I have gallbladder disease with surgery due in January and until then I need to stay below 5% fat to stop my gallbladder becoming upset.

Can anyone suggest anything? Its looking quite bleak.....

Turkey
Cranberry sauce
Clementines, Satsumas & Tangerines
Lebkuchen - delicious spicy German iced gingerbread biscuits/cakes. Very low fat.
Pretzel sticks
Parma ham with melon as a starter
Champagne and prosecco or Bucks Fizz

I'm not sure so will just suggest relatively low fat options: Meat and vegetables should be ok? Would meringue and berries be an ok pudding? Soup as a starter

Prawns or salmon with a Marie Rose style dressing made with low fat yogurt, ketchup, lemon, garlic and capers.
With Melba toast (toast sliced bread, cut between the two toasted sides to make two very thin pieces. Cut into triangles. Dry in a low oven.
With salad bits.

Mashed potato with yogurt for creaminess. Or pipe/spoon into little heaps, freeze, then roast to make duchesse potatoes.

Turkey and veg ok.

Meringue roulade made with fat free crème fraiche, icing sugar, berries.

Fat free is quite easy! It's low fat and low sugar that's really hard!

I'm using chicken sausages for my pigs in blankets.

Turkey, dry roasted potatoes (not quite the same but still nice), stuffing, steamed/baked vegetables, cranberry sauce - you can have quite a lot of Christmas dinner without much fat.

Gravy made with stock gel pots and thickened with cornflour.

Yes I had this over Xmas a few years ago. Wasn't the most exciting food but didn't feel too deprived. Dry roasted pots, Turkey and veg with a bit of bistro gravy. Some jelly sweets instead of chocs, gin and tonic (couldn't do wine with mine) turkey salad sandwiches with cranberry sauce. Clementine and Prosecco jelly.
