Has anyone tried these? I have about 5 stone to lose. Wonder if it would suppress my urge to drink as well as I get a lot of calories from wine!

Never heard of it. Do you have a link? I'd be interested too.

I was about to start a post about this then saw this one. I'd also like to know if they work?

Looks strongly like a scam to me. Lots of fake websites boosting its profile and misspelling of Dragons Den on some sites.

BBC or NHS have some good independent advice. Dr Michael Mosley on BBC has numerous podcasts regarding weight loss and scientific studies that help prove which ones work.

Popular at the moment is Intermittent fasting. Various different combination that can be used. If you can try to extend the period you are not eating daily for example. This could be 12/12, 14/10, 16/8. Where the first number is the hours you are not consuming calories I.e. 16 hours, drinks are allowed. Easiest way to do this is to switch to two meals a day to create the biggest fasting window. You can always switch between fasting windows to find what you can sustain. First few days are hardest, but gets progressively easier as your body/mind adapt to new routine.

Two other key elements are maximising your metabolism. There are some foods that can help boost this combined with good sleep also helps. But this ideally needs regular exercise to make the biggest difference. Also by exercising more you can eat a bit more too to compensate, just keep the extra calories to less than your exercise burnt.

Finally, it's modifying what you eat. If you try to reduce calorie dense foods in your diet. Calorie counting is very effective, in helping establish a routine with apps such as MyFitnessPal which you can access for free. Again refer to BBC or NHs online as a start point.

I would underpin this with weighing/logging daily, same time every day. Tracking is vital, it's important not to set much store by 1 or even 2 or 3 days weight loss, there will be unexplained ups, but you should see an overall trend downwards over time. Very common for folks to lose their way.

Just take a day or 2 out max to reset and reflect how you can keep going and keep pushing through. Sharing with someone supportive can help if that's an option. Just be wary of lots of wonder diets / pills especially around this time of the year. Good Luck!

There are an increasing number of diet products that make wild claims on weight loss either alledgely substantiated by celebrities and/or dragons den. Equally miracle heating that costs little to run and heat your home. Twitter, Facebook or multiple dodgy websites and blogs are not a reliable sole source for authentication.

There are foods that can help your metabolism, and there are approved diet pills that can help block Fat being absorbed, such as Orlistat Xenical which is a prescription drug and can assist as part of a calorie controlled diet and exercise, but only help supplement your efforts. They do not magically drop large volumes of weight off in a short period of time by themselves.

Many of us want to to lose weight and as fast as possible. It is possible to shift weight by reducing calories, changing the types of foods we eat and importantly exercise and there are many ways to try this including intermittent fasting.

It helps to try and find something that works for you. The more effort you put in generally the bigger rewards, but plateaus (where weight loss stops or even go up) are common too, you have to work through these. There are tips on this too.

The biggest dangers are giving up, breaking your own diet and exercise rules too often and worst of all not maintaining your diet / exercise after weight loss.

Your weight maintenance post diet should be easier, but many of us are trying to break the habits of a lifetime so it's very easy to go off the rails.

Regular weighing and tweaking our diet and exercise, if needed, can help keep that weight off for good.

Good Luck to those trying to lose weight, significant change can be seen in 3-6 months, but may take at least 1-2 years, depending on how much you have to lose.

Figur is a complete scam. None of it's true. Notice the grammar errors and spelling mistakes on the websites advertising it. Everything they claim is frankly ludicrous.

Sorry but lots of people (including I) have sometimes wanted to lose weight and realistically there's only one way to do it, put less food in and use more energy. Diet/exercise.

It works. After I broke my back I lost over 8 stone in about 18 months. I'd put it on very quickly (tube whilst I was unconscious for two months) so it was relatively easy but I have able-bodied friends who've done similar things. A friend of mine found stomach stapling helped him a great deal but he has diabetes which kinda changes things.

Only you can stop yourself drinking. Beer bellies are so named in part because alcohol is VERY high in calories.

Good luck, I did it and there's nothing special about me (I use a wheelchair all of the time).

Inconsequence · 25/01/2023 12:35

That should read "tube fed"

Krisoph · 25/01/2023 14:19

Absolute scam it has never been on Dragons Den. A lot of effort has been put in with many fake reviews, many including the word scam BUT suggesting you only buy from the official website. However, these are fake too.
Supposed Mail Online articles are also faked.
