Is someone able to kindly give me like an idiots guide / overview of the Fast 800 please. Or even suggest which books / apps to get.

I know have to stay within 800 calories for up to 12 weeks. But I am a bit lost on the macros (% fat, how many grams of protein etc).

And if anyone wanted to start with me ! :)

I started doing it 6 weeks ago. I decided to pay for the online programme, as it generates meal plans and shopping lists for you. There are also little exercise sessions each day.
I decided to go with the two meals a day option, as there is a lot of cooking to deal with otherwise.
I’ve lost 20lb in six weeks (was 4 stone overweight to start with)
The meals are tasty but small, and I am always a bit hungry.
The exercises are easy and in very short sessions so I’ve surprised myself by doing them every day.
I’ve stuck to it rigidly so far without too much difficulty, but time will tell…

That's amazing! Do you feel great?

How much is it?

I wouldn’t say that I feel great, because I never feel satisfied. The meals are just not big enough.
Also I’ve lost a few stone before and then put it back on again, so I’m a bit sceptical about whether or not I can maintain it.
I do find it really helpful to have the meal plans and shopping lists, and compared to other diets I’ve looked at I think that it seems like a healthy way to eat.
It cost me £99, but I think it might be cheaper at the moment. It’s a 12 week plan, after which you can change to a 5:2 plan with a monthly subscription so you can still access the meal plans etc.
If I’m successful in completing the 12 weeks I might do the monthly subscription. £10 a month to be a healthy weight seems like a good investment in myself.
It’s not a cheap way of eating, but you can swap meals and switch for cheaper vege options.

The website says that you’ll feel full but I would disagree with that. No one is going to feel full on 800 calories a day. You definitely need a bit of willpower as well. I don’t eat anything until 2pm, which took a bit of getting used to but is pretty ok now.

That’s great ! I admire your motivation and perseverance. I tried to start last week but didn’t go to plan due to a few reasons.

started again yesterday ! Struggling as I have twins who are waking up at 5am at the moment - just makes the morning so long. But definitely feeling motivated reading this ! Please do keep updating

You can do it!
My husband fell off a ladder and broke his spine and ribs three days after I started the diet. I still managed to keep to it even though I was spending about 8 hours a day going to and from hospital, and then caring for him at home. Every visitor that came to see him bought him chocolates and cakes. That was tough!
I think you have to do the shopping all in one go, and keep to the planned meals. That way you’re not wasting mental energy thinking about it.
I wake up at 5am too (bloody menopause!) so I know what you mean about long mornings. Lots of cups of tea and keeping busy are key. And not having junk food in the house.

I think a lot of my motivation comes from having weight-related health problems. It’s no longer just about vanity - I want my body to work properly again.

Thank you! I know I am making excuses... started again today!

I started Fast800 (did the online plan too) just over two years ago and for me it was the best £99 I ever spent. It truly revolutionised my eating habits and made me able to free myself from the sugar addiction. I was "only" about 6kg (about a stone) overweight but it all sat on my waist line, back and boobs. I lost 17kg in total, I have gained 3kg back but I feel it sits now on a good place as it's 55kg (8.7 stone) and I'm 161cm tall. I've also been weight training over a year now so some of that 3kg gain is muscle.

Have you started on the online plan? Once you pay and register, you will be assigned a short assessment where the suggest you either a full 800 cal every day plan or 5/2 plan which is 800 cal on five days and 1500 cal on two days. This depends on how over weight you are. I did 5/2 from the beginning as I wasn't in the obese category. Apart from the first week, I didn't feel hungry at all.

I still eat the same way except for I don't count the calories anymore, I find it very enjoyable way to live. I don't miss crappy cakes and cookies at all. My advice would be to stick to three meals a day to begin with, especially if you are up very early. Once you are used to woe then maybe drop the breakfast but it's not something that is a must. PP above says to have lots of cups of tea, I'm not sure if she means with milk or without but you will sabotage your diet if you keep drinking milky teas throughout the day. The milk will stop your body being able to turn to fat burning mode and you will feel hungry.
