Hi mum2joshua04.

You have described me down to a t! I got the diet doctors inside & out book for Christmas (on request - hopefully no-one I know would be so insensitive to get it unsolicited!) and it has some really good info. They are really big on walking, and also suggest that if you do 4 x 20 mins brisk exercise a week (not gym - anything you want - walking, cycling, skipping) you will really see a difference. Problem is the weather is so crap at the moment it is hard to get motivated to go out walking.

I also did Gillian McKeith's plan in the past, and had really good success with it - lost 10k in a month, but it is pretty full on, and I found it hard to maintain for more than 4-5 months, then got pregnant and am back to square1 (DS now 8 months).

I also went to my doctor this week to see if there are any medical issues why it is hard to lose weight. She is going to do blood tests for thyroid function, insulin resistance, hormone levels. Helps to have a supportive Doctor.

Hope you do well, it's horrid being bigger than you feel, and would be lovely to be able to buy nicer clothes!

LOL

Forgot to mention, cutting down on tea / coffee / alcohol can rally help to remove toxins (which is probably what is in your spare tyre).

Also, lack of vitamins / minerals can really impact on vital functions for losing weight, eg liver function, so I would really recommend a good multi-vitamin (although I am not a doc).

Hello, mum2joshua04. I've tried many DVDs and they all made me out of breath in 10 to 15 minutes, even the easy once. Walking is great and also try dancing to music, it's less intence but that means you can do it for longer and more regularly. As fo the food, I think vegie soups and salads with a bit of oil and lemon juice are great. try not to starve yurself and soups and salads can detox you without having to resort to drastic programmes which work quicly but the moment you stop takes you back where you were. Cleaning the house and sweeping the leaves outside burns colouries well and helps you improve things around you. I hope this helps. Good luck!
