Has anyone noticed how easy it is to order saxenda/ozempic? I thought diabetics needed them?

Saw a couple of adds on FB, then went through a rabbit hole and Boots and ASDA will happily deliver them. Lloyds is the only place that actually gatekept properly, as I know they're supposed to be for BMIs above 30 and with no known thyroid issues (my BMI is 26 and have hypothyroidism). Was just really shocked of how easy it was to get an order in.

I've just ordered Saxenda. Never heard of it before today but I do fit all the diagnostic criteria. My GP will be informed. I don't see it as a problem personally. Is it something that is abused?

It's an appetite suppressant, so I'm sure it could be

Asda just refused me a repeat of Sax as my BMI is now too low (around 26.5- it was over 30 when I had my first script). So they do gatekeep.

So Boots just rejected my order because they need more info on a long term health condition I have. They've asked me to order again with more detailed info.

Seems like sufficient gate keeping to me.

Of course, people could lie, but that puts your own health at risk. Boots will inform your GP anyway and I'd expect any lies/major incompatibility to be flagged at this point and a safeguarding referral made.
