Not really sure why I am sharing this, but my GP appointment today has really given me the kick up the back I needed, although I am slightly offended as she's been so blunt!!
I've gained quite a bit of weight in the last couple of years (about 2 stones). Reasons are mainly COVID lockdowns and being stuck in the house during mat leave, limited exercise and a very sweet tooth. I also haven't been quite myself mentally.
Had a GP appointment today for a repeat prescription and essentially was told by the GP (not the one I'm usually seeing) that I am too overweight and would have to change prescriptions.
I currently have a BMI of 29, which I know is too high. I have however been very active for the last year though and fitness is better than pre kids.
Whilst I haven't lost weight in that time, I do feel fitter, stronger, etc . And yes, I know I need to stop eating so many snacks!
GP even offered to prescribe me some medication which "doesn't let you absorb all the fat in your diet"...and suggested I try going for the occasion walk.
I suppose she is right but I had never met her before and thought she could have been a bit, erm, nicer?
