Diabetic, high BP, need to lose 10%

Hi. I saw my very gorgeous, young, slim GP yesterday and was told I need to lose 10% of my body weight. She didn't seem to appreciate how it felt to be in my chair and I was too embarrassed to ask her what that 10% would be. She gave my weight in 'new money', ie. lbs.
I've figured out that I'm 12 stone and 12 ounces. Does anyone know what 10% of that would be?
I didn't get a GCSE grade D in maths for nothing.

Presuming you mean 12 stone 12 pounds then that’s (14 x 12)+ 12 = 180lbs @10% = 18lbs = 1 stone 4lb

17 lbs

My hubby got told the same. He lost his 10% by cutting back on sugar and going for a 3 mile walk everyday. He managed to reverse the pre diabetes, Good luck 🤞

Hey, this really helpful, thanks very much. So I must lose 1stone and 4lb. That makes better sense to me!

I know it probably feels like a lot but 10% shouldn't be too hard to shift.

IncessantNameChanger, yes, I've lost 2 stone since I was put on the list for bariatric surgery in 2019, then a million telephone consultations and blood test and various clinics during lockdown...but now the NHS are saying I've done too well and am no longer eligible and that I can "easily lose" another 10%.
