Christmas Survival Guide

How are you all planning to stick to your diets over the festive season? My SW leader used to say that Christmas is only a day - but it isn't in my house! So far my plans are:-
3rd - drinks round town with mates
4th - meal out with different mates
14th - dd is 16, out for a meal
17th - works do
19th - food and drinks at mine after Carol Service - all welcome!
23rd - dp's birthday - out for a meal
25th - family at mine
26th - mates at mine
27th/28th - going to London for an overnight stay with childen and dp
31st - mates at mine
1st/2nd going to Skipton for a rest with dp

My tactics are going to be - if I go out anywhere to drive, then I will be in control of myself more when it comes to making choices and not kidded into thinking that I am thin and gorgeous and can eat whatever I want by two bottles of wine
On my things at home - to have as much free soup as possible before and provide as much low fat stuff as possible, apart form Christmas day which is going to be a day off! I may try a weight watchers Christmas pudding as a way of showing a bit of effort. And try and do lots and lots of walking.
If I can just maintain over those weeks,I will be happy - I know it's going to be hard but I have to loose this weight for February.

I must keep saying the Coddy Mantra' nothing tastes as good as being slim feels'

How will everyone else manage?

I'm the same as you, have a very hectic few weeks coming up. Also have my birthday in December but want to try very hard to keep to w/w plan
as much as possible. To be honest Xmas day isn't actually that hard. After all a Xmas dinner is pretty much like a roast dinner. It's all the extra meals out and drinking that is difficult. Oh, and when we go up north after xmas at my in-laws they always have enourmous tins of roses & quality street lying around open. That I find very hard.

I really can be such a glutton tho'. Dp just can't appreciate the amounts that I eat when he isn't around After last Christmas I looked at the photo's that Mil had taken and really hated the picture of myself that was there and vowed to do something about it. Here I am in exactly the same position.

I found out today that one Quality Street is 1.5 points
But that a Martini (pub measure) and diet lemonade is .5 points
A little knowledge is a dangerous thing...

The only problem there is by the time you've had a few martini's you kind of convince yourself that the quality street have no point/syns and neither do the crisps, nuts and whatever else goes into your mouth I think the answer is to hibernate (preferably with lots of chocolate and alcohol)
