Got two (probably more like 2.5) stone to lose, rejoined a gym today and I'm planning on doing strength training and swimming . Normally hate exercise and love unhealthy food so I need some company to help keep us going!

Is it too late for new joiners?

Im also around 5ft and think I weigh close to 12 - eeek. Peri and lockdown the main contributors but I can’t seem to stick to anything. I need accountability. I really want to get back to 9.7.

I will weigh myself tmrw and then update on progress. Im going to calorie count and start off with walking and HIIT

thanks!

Hi, can I join too please? I weighed myself today and was genuinely shocked - I’m 81kg and would like to lose at least 15kg (ideally 20kg but starting with 15kg). I work in a stressful job/environment, made infinitely worse by covid and definitely eat my feelings!

Food is my problem area - I think I’ve failed in the past because I try to stick to 1000-1200 calories so will try going for a more moderate deficit to start with so around 1500.

Fingers crossed!

What does everyone do for snacks in the day? They are my biggest downfall! I have been trying to eat more fruit and I don’t touch chocolate or biscuits, I’m all about the crisps and carbs though. I think wfh I confuse boredom with hunger!

banabak · 06/07/2022 23:03

@Charl881 my go to snacks are blueberries, small apples and corn thins - they're 23 cals each.

Welcome StellaGibson2022 and namechangedjustnow. I think we're all starting from a similar place.

Charl881 · 07/07/2022 21:01

@banabak oh yes I forgot about corn thins! I good shout

RomanMum · 09/07/2022 17:15

@banabak thanks! Not going back to SW groups, don't fit in with my lifestyle at the moment and I'd want to stay, not pay £5 just to be weighed. Need the discipline without the financial burden.

Weighed myself today- eek. At least I have a starting point.

How's everyone getting on?

Slightly disheartened on Sunday when I weighed and still the same although they are 'smart scales' so did show a slight decrease in % of body fat if they're right! Think my head is getting into it now though with making better choices. Did have to go to Costa today though as had a free drink to claim, managed to fit it in the my calories so no guilt felt!

banabak · 13/07/2022 21:28

I'm 1lb down this week (4lbs in total). Lots of boiled eggs, apples and salad have got me through. I've been snacking so I'm going to not have any yoghurt or dark chocolate this coming week. It's so frustrating that being short means that I need less calories than I'd like!

RomanMum · 16/07/2022 13:18

I've got some dodgy old scales and they are showing a loss but not sure how much, maybe 2lb? It's a start, long way to go, but aiming for the half stone to begin with.

Shakey2022 · 17/07/2022 17:54

2lbs down this week from 12 stone to 11 stone 12. 🥳

banabak · 18/07/2022 13:58

Brilliant loss @Shakey2022! Are you now 11 st something? I can't wait to get down to the 10st something, as psychologically, seeing the change in number on the scales will make me feel like I've made some real progress. I started 11st 8.5 and was 11st 4.5 at last weigh in. Hoping for a couple of pounds off this week, but I find it really hard to tell how I'm doing. I've been drinking a lot of water as it's hot, but I haven't been as on it at counting calories.

Shakey2022 · 18/07/2022 21:55

@banabak I am 11 12 so still a long way to go as I’d like to be in the 10 stone bracket. 4 pounds is great, keep going!

Shakey2022 · 28/07/2022 21:56

Did anyone else fall off the wagon? 🫣

bez91 · 29/07/2022 06:51

@Shakey2022 I did a little, horrible viral infection had us all so food choices weren't good and exercise none existent! Back on it this week though, will be really disappointed Sunday if no loss!

Shakey2022 · 29/07/2022 23:52

Glad you’re feeling better!

I will commit to posting on here daily from tomorrow!

bez91 · 31/07/2022 06:57

@Shakey2022 sounds a good idea to keep on track 🙌🏼

Weighed this morning; 0.75kg down on last week (1.5lbs) which isn't a lot but trying not to use weight as a main indicator as I think it can be unhealthy sometimes. Scales say 0.5% body fat lost on last week and 0.3 BMI so progress

Shakey2022 · 31/07/2022 10:49

good work Bez!

A good food day for me yesterday 👏👏
