Ive always had issues with my weight/body. I assumed by losing weight this would go and I do feel slightly better but not how I imagined I’d feel.

Im 5 11 my highest weight was 13 stone and Im now 11 stone 2 and a size 12 with a bmi of 22.

I am waiting for the day when I feel comfortable in my clothes and confident and it seems like it hasn’t arrived. I am still calorie counting but feeling disheartened.

If i lose more weight will I eventually reach a point where I feel good in my body or is this more of a mindset thing that I need to change? Has anyone experienced similar?

I’m not as tall as you but I definitely felt the same for a while. I kept wondering why I wasn’t feeling as good as I used to when I got down to 10ish stone, which I was when younger and more confident. I think it was just post DC and the distribution of the weight tbh. I wasn’t the ‘me’ I remembered.

When I finally got rid of my blubbery belly by getting towards the lower end of my bmi it finally clicked. I’m a typical apple and my tummy was the last thing to go. Twig arms & legs & a ball of a belly even at 10 stone 6. Once that went, clothes just seemed to hang better on me and it gave me a boost of confidence.

I then started actually seeing muscle definition in my arms and legs (and tummy if I flatten my slightly wrinkly skin) through doing yoga, then I added just a 20 min weights workout a week along with my yoga. Now I feel lean and strong and that gives me a bigger boost of confidence than being slim tbh, although I’m slightly gutted at the wrinkly skin on my tummy.

well done on your weight loss, don’t be disheartened! Focus on how much healthier you are now than you were.

@Wellthatsjustswell thanks so much for your reply that’s very kind. I think your point about toning the body is a good idea too I do want to try more exercises.

ive lost a bit over the last couple of months and making steady progress however I’ve also been doing a lot of exercising. What is keeping me really positive is I can see and feel a big difference with my toning even though I’ve not actually lost that much weight.
