I am going on holiday in October to meet up with old friends. I am ashamed to say that I have put on a humongous amount of weight since having my children. I need to lose at least 4 stone (5 stone to get back within healthy BMI range). Anyone manage to lose a lot of weight in a short amount of time. And which diets worked for you. I'm intending to go to the gym 5 days a week too. Thank you x

Huel for lunch and breakfast. No snacks throughout day. Nice wholesome dinner. Boom

What do you think has made you put on the weight? Is it comfort eating? Portion size? I’d start there.

I wonder if you’re setting yourself up to fail with aiming for going to the gym five times a week. I’m fit and active and don’t manage that. I’d aim to go less but work out intensely when you do go. Weight loss is mostly diet anyway.

Really good luck to you.

I did it and just with healthy eating and getting my steps in every day, plus couch to 5k.

But I'd bet a lot that you don't need to loose anywhere near that to feel happy on holiday. Even if you 'just' lost 2 you'd be feeling more confident by then and that would make all the difference

I would be amazed if you manage to lose 5 stone in four months. It sounds ridiculous to even attempt it. I'm trying to lose weight and doing really well - losing about 10lb a month. So by your schedule, I will have lost around 2.5 stones by October. That would be great. Why set yourself up to fail?

You’d do that with a meal replacement plan like Cambridge, slim and save, exante. You lose around 1st a month on them. I did in the past.

It’s not a long term plan as, like @PurpleDaisies says, you need to get to root cause of overeating / weight gain, but you can address that / find a healthier lifestyle diet once you’ve shifted bulk of your weight gain.
