Intuitive Eating

Not sure if this is the right forum but not sure where else it fits.

Has anyone else decided to give intuitive eating a try instead of dieting? I've just started with it and am starting to feel a bit calmer around food but struggling with the risk of increasing weight, even if it's only temporary.

Hi, I tried intuitive eating for three years and became very overweight and uncomfortable. I had thigh rub, and indigestion and my clothes were digging in. For me, I was probably confusing intuitive eating with impulsive eating. I ended up seeing a therapist who specialised in habit change. Cognitive behavioural therapy for weight loss was really helpful and I've managed to stop yoyo dieting.

Intuitive eating depends on what you are eating. A kale salad or a bag of crips .

Intuitive eating doesn't work around industrial food, engineered to bypass all the body circuits that tell you "enough ".

Intuitive eating also doesn't work if you are eating in front of tv, social media, in the car or other linked behaviour.

Intuitive eating doesn't work after years of overeating when you have lost the ability to understand and distinguish hunger, cravings, emotion.

Intuitive eating doesn't work if you are overweight, because the excess fat in your body generates hormones.
