The lengths you'll go to for your diet?

I'm currently drinking homemade pea soup which is part of my latest diet plan. Can't say it's the most delicious meal I have had, but I will persue this if it helps me to lose weight.

Anyone do anything similar?

I noticed you said this is part of your “latest diet plan”. It may be that you only have a few pounds to lose, in which case I guess a few less enjoyable meals aren’t too bad. If this is a more long term thing though, you’d probably find it easier if you found something more enjoyable.

Losing weight doesn’t have to be torture. The only lengths I’ve ever gone to is count calories and aim for as high a number as I can get away with while still losing a little bit of weight each week. I’ve lost more than 4 stone like that and felt great throughout.

Pea and mint soup is very nice

Why do have to drink pea soup?

No, because it might help shift a few pounds, but ultimately I would end up going back to my ‘normal’ foods and put the weight back on. I needed to find either new foods that I still enjoy eating, or smaller portions (or less frequent) of unhealthy foods, or substitutions I could actually keep going with long term.

So my new foods are greek/natural/skyr yoghurts, chia and flax seeds, granola. I really enjoy it and have it almost every day now.
I eat chocolate, crisps, biscuits much less often.
I’ve substituted squash for plain water, wholemeal spaghetti, rice etc instead of white.

I need to make those my new normal, so I can keep going.

I'd say 2 to 3 stone to lose.

I'm using up food I have in the cupboard and freezer. It seems every time I've been going shopping I think I haven't got any peas so buy them so have ended up with bags and bags full.

I've been making them a bit more liquidy with water, quite helpful as I keep forgetting to drink water.

Honestly, apart from making sure I eat more protein and being a bit careful with 'treats', I've not changed much. It has to be sustainable after all
