I don't have a huge amount to lose but all my clothes are too tight now....

I have a high satiety point so need food to be filling otherwise I'll binge later.

I find I do better off bread / starchy carbs and sugar too, so please can I have your ideas for the above?

Omelette with various fillings. Following as I'd love to hear more

I hate it but cottage cheese. Or skyr is no fat and very high protein.

Avocado mixed with feta - like a guacamole. Add some black beans.

Or mashed up butter beans.

Wraps, thin bagels, pitta breads - all low carb but hold it together.

Caulfilower ,red pepper and red onion in a pan with garlic and cook for a while. Add tinned Tomotates , taco spices and chilli . Add tin drained mix beans . Enjoy :)

Great for reheating !

Lower carb bread might help. I sometimes have this for sandwiches

Not the most delicious bread ever, but perfectly OK In taste and texture - and the seeds are healthy and filling.

Cottage cheese with chopped cucumber/cherry tomatoes/pepper and a few peanuts on top.

Gardeningfool · 04/04/2022 08:27

Home made soup! Cheap and cheerful, especially if you use leftover veg from other meals (or take advantage of whatever's seasonal/cheap at the moment). If you include some beans and or lentils in the mix then there's some protein there. I freeze it in one-person containers, so can zap in the microwave for lunch.

Lentil soup /spicy carrot and lentil soup, really quick and easy to make, freeze in portions.

Lidl cottage cheese is cheaper than supermarket.

Salads made with chick peas / chopped onion, tomato etc. Chick peas are high protein and filling. Buy the 3 tins for £1 in the current Ramadan supermarket deals in the world food aisle.

Baked beans on a modest slice of whole meal toast.

Scrambled egg.

Tin of sardines / half a tin of mackerel

All these are of modest price, filling and protein rich.

Thanks some good ideas here!

I do like soup, but I'm not sure a bowl of soup would fill me up tbh

But maybe if I combined with some fish (which I eat occasionally) or egg.

Haven't eaten cottage cheese in 20 years, I used to get the one with pineapple!

Like the idea of avo feta black bean mash with a salad

There is a decent really really low carb bread available online. Expensive but you can stash it in the freezer till one of those moments when only a sandwich will do

I make a big pan of veg soup, buy one of those pre chopped bags from supermarket if you cba chopping. Chuck a handful of red lentils in, then serve with a dollop of mature cheddar on top. Very, very filling and tasty.

Widmerpool · 07/04/2022 18:44

Frying pan: chopped veg: peppers, courgettes, tomatoes, maybe some spinach or anything leftover/cooked (I often have e.g.squash kicking around.) Maybe sweetcorn, canned beans or chickpeas for more bulk.

Cook for a while in some olive oil until nicely caramelised. Add a sprinkle of salt, maybe some chilli flakes. Break in a couple of eggs, lid on until the eggs are set.

Serve with dollop of Greek yogurt.

Snoopfroggyfrogg · 07/04/2022 18:49

Shiritaki noodles with a veg and a sauce (sesame is good) or as a pasta bake with half fat cheese

catfunk · 07/04/2022 19:05

Have you tried the lo-dough products? They do a very low calorie/low carb wrap and you can fill it up with loads of veggies or whatever your preferred kind of protein. Easy to take to work or whatever.

Haven't heard of lo dough either, seems you can only buy online, might give them a go though
