Which scales are right?!

I'm 11st on my analogue scales and 11st 7.5 on my digital scales.

Well this is depressing as the digital scales are new.

Anyone had this before ? Which were right?

I need to weigh at a friends but keep forgetting to take all my clothes off in their bathroom Hmm 🙃

Have you moved the scales? We have digital ones at work and we all weigh 3-4lbs lighter/heavier, depending on which bit of carpet the s airs are on!

Minikievs · 26/03/2022 09:51

*scales Hmm

Dearmariacountmein · 26/03/2022 09:53

The new digital ones are likely to be correct. Analogue ones tend to need recalibrating regularly.

Weigh yourself with your clothes on at your friends and then when you get come keep the same clothes on and weigh yourself on each of the scales.

I don’t know if I’m right but I prefer analogue scales, I always recalibrate them and make sure they’re smack on zero before I step on

SweetsAndChocolates · 26/03/2022 09:56

@MistySkiesAfterRain I have the same issue, my digital scales add 7 pounds. I used to ignore the digital ones, but now I only use those. I believe they are more accurate. It is annoying 😂 as it means instead of only 7 more pounds to goal weight is more a whole stone Sad

ClariceQuiff · 26/03/2022 09:58

It's hard, but try to ignore the number and just focus on your weekly loss. Digital scales are easier for this because there's no wobbling needle tempting you to fudge the figures.

AMessageToYouRudy · 26/03/2022 10:52

Have you got a fixed weight like a dumbbbell or kettlebell you could use check the accuracy? I used to carry scales around in my car for work and I'd calibrate them with a 5lb fat model (also used for work, health education)

SingaporeSlinky · 26/03/2022 11:25

I’d use the digital ones from now on. Make sure you’re using them on a hard floor, not carpet, and put them in exactly the same place each time. As long as you use the same ones from now on, you’ll know how much weight you’ve lost, regardless of the starting weight.

Oh yes that would be a logical idea!

I want to deny this but I think you might be right. This is quite crushing news 😂

Ooh this is a good idea. I shall report back.

You need to put them on a hard surface. They never weigh right on carpet.
MistySkiesAfterRain · 26/03/2022 15:59

I put 7lb on the analogue scales and they came out as 9lb. I think I can conclude they are not that accurate.

Digital it is going forward then.
