Weighted hoola hoop

Hello

I’ve seen this a few times on tik tok now and there have been promising reviews and before and after pictures.

I wondered if anyone “real” so to speak has or is using one of these and what your thoughts are?

I want to tone and lose weight around the middle and this looks a bit more fun and can be done whilst watching tv.

I use a weighted hoop (a regular style one rather than the thing that looks like a belt with a ball attached) and there are a few points to note:
1 - it gives me large bruises that can get very tender if I don't take a few days break, this is a common issue.
2 - you need a lot of space as the hoops are fairly large and I wouldn't get too close to the TV whilst using one!
3 - It is fun, and you can get a sweat on, but it isn't going to be a waistline miracle maker, sorry

Its fun, you need space and it hurts at first.

It's fun, it hurts at first & you need one that reaches your belly button - most adults think they can't hoop because they are using a hoop too small for the physics / most kids can because the hoop is the right size / too big. I do it on my kitchen to music & only occasionally hit a chair. It's not mate my stomach flatter but had improved my core muscles.

I have this one Mirafit Weighted Fitness Hula... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0198B5NIU?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

Is there a different to the one in the link or those that have sections and a weight attached?

I've got a weighted hula hoop - the regular sort, not the one with a ball - and I think it does tone my waist but it certainly isn't an overnight miracle.

You definitely need a lot of space. I used to go to a hoop class at my gym, and there are a lot of exercises there that I can't do in my living room. In nice weather I do it in the garden.

Hello. I am for my sins a hula hoop performer. These things are a scam really. They're easier to make stay up initially because of the weight of them but it also means you're not using as much effort to keep it up. You'd be much better off with a large real hula hoop for toning and cardio and to start learning some fun stuff...not just going round the waist forever. I can recommend the correct size and pipe if you let me know how tall you are.
