Low gi? Anyone still do this and recommend a book/recipes?

It was the thing a while back but you don't seem to hear much about it now. It seems to make sense to control the sugar rush side of things with eating but I'm struggling to find a book that just uses the most basic recipes, even if it's repetitive.
All the books I see seem to want it to be kept interesting by having a totally different breakfast every day and dinners with unusual ingredients. I just want to do it on a budget, using as basic family meals as possible. It's when we have to create a masterpiece at every meal that I lose my way.
Also, one of the books I was reading suggested fruit juice at breakfast? I thought this was one of the worst things?
Anyone know a diet plan that's low gi or gl that is really simple to follow with mostly supermarket basics?

Or...how about pinch of nom and hairy dieters books, I have a bunch of these. Does anyone just use these and manage to lose weight?

I have never followed a low GI plan as such. But I recommend eating plenty of brown rice. It really keeps me full. I eat it with tagine, chilli, curry etc and it’s great for keeping me full.

I buy the microwave pouches for 35p. So cheap and easy.

Have a look at Gousto. All the recipes have sugar content labelled. I go for the ones under 10g sugars.

Look for anything by Michel montignac
Lots have recipes, it's basically meat and veg with creamy sauces
