Weight coming off the wrong places?!

I'm 5'4 and a classic pear shape. I've lost 2 stone over the last 6 months and now weigh 9 stones 8lb. However it all seems to have come off my face, waist, stomach, collarbone etc and my thighs, bum and upper arms are as chunky as ever. I'm at the point now where people are commenting that my face looks a bit gaunt and my collarbones are visible but I'm still unhappy with my thighs and upper arms.

Wtf do I do?? I walk a lot but don't do any other exercise, used to weight train in another life but tbh always just found it made me look even beefier.

I’m the same height and shape as you, and have gone from 10st7 to 9st5
Weirdly I’ve lost it in the exact opposite places though, so I’ve lost it from legs and bum. I want to lose it from tummy but I keep reading that you can’t target specific spots, it generally comes off where you gained it last.

I’ve been doing spin classes twice a week, lots of uphill walking on the treadmill and cross-trainer at the gym. The other gym classes I’ve been going to rely a lot on squats and lunges, so you could try that?

What I’ve definitely realised is that even though I’ve lost the weight I wanted to, it hasn’t suddenly made me look like a supermodel, I’m just a slightly smaller version of myself, so my actual shape hasn’t changed that much. I still look in the mirror and see a flabby tummy, still see cankles and still see big thighs.

A few years ago I did a boxercise dvd nearly every day and my arms looked lovely and toned after a few months. Can you try and incorporate different types of exercise?

Obviously it doesn't help how you feel internally, but coming off your tummy and waist will absolutely be the best place for your health - weight carried round your hips and thighs is the least likely to cause long term health problems.

Weightloss doesn’t really change your body shape. If you’re a pear, you’ll just be a smaller pear. I’ve found rowing to be really good for firming up arms and legs. I can’t say they’ve got much smaller, but are definitely much less wobbly.

Agree weight loss won't charge your shape. I would need to be about 8 pr 9 stone to have thin legs. Not happening anytime soon. My DSIS is about 8 stone and even though her legs are thin, I can still see she has the same bottom heavy build that I do.

You just need to accept and work with what you have unfortunately.

I will try and find a spin or other class local to me. I do like the sound of proper exercise again but tis difficult as I have a small baby and DH works awkward hours.

Although as much as I like the sound of slim legs, I've not been 8 stone since I was a teenager and i dont know if I have the willpower, I like bread too much!!
