Feeling rubbish, achy and sluggish

Hi, I think I have recently started to feel the effects of being overweight and hoping this will spur me on to lose weight. I have around 4-5 stone to lose. This seems an enormous amount so will set small targets.
I am not sleeping well, ache all over when I get up in the morning. I have mild headaches most days, always feel like I have a sore throat or headcold, my limbs ache not my joints, my limbs, they feel heavy. I have no energy, I can't run up the stairs anymore, my neck is tense ( pc work ). I have potential heart issues.
Just feeling a bit down and annoyed at myself.

Can anyone tell me they have lost weight and felt physically better? I just don't want to feel so lethargic.

I have pcos so struggle to shift weight but reducing, not eliminating, carbs works for me, it comes off easily but I don't stick to it. I find the prep too much, though any diet would be the same.

Hi, this sounds so similar to me. Also PCOS.
I have lost weight in the past. Always feel more energetic, happier. Just better.

For the 1st time in my life I'm losing weight. Ive only lost just under a stone and I can't believe the difference its made and its really encouraging me to lose more. I wonder why I've let myself go for so long without losing weight tbh!
I'm doing the 8:16 diet and it seems to be really working for me.

I was exactly where you were this time last year. Constant low level headaches, crippling plantar fasciitis, all kinds of digestive issues (which I didn’t even notice until I sorted out my diet 😬) and just getting up from the sofa felt like such a massive chore!

The good thing about hitting a low like that is that it doesn’t actually take that long before you start noticing a difference. I started noticing it a few weeks after I started. The headaches cleared almost straightaway and as I wasn’t so stuffed before going to bed, I slept a bit better too. I pretty much felt the plantar fasciitis get better with every pound I lost!

After a year of living (mostly) healthily, I’ve lost 4 stone and my FitBit tells me that my fitness level is way above average for women my age. For me the trick was to not see it as a diet, but as a long term lifestyle change, focussing on healthy food and exercise. I do count calories, but aim for a relatively high amount to keep it sustainable.

I hadnt realised but my plantar fasciitis has improved at well! I normally hobble out of bed and don't recall feeling that. I also agree that it can't be a diet but a life style change. I don't think I'll ever go back to eating the way I did. I still plan on treating myself like going out for a nice meal but everything in moderation. The test for me will be going on holiday and saying no to all the cocktails and mid day glasses of fizz!

I have felt the same. I have about 9 stone to loose. I reached rock bottom and had a lot of the symptoms you wrote about. I started to feel my mobility slipping away. About 3 months ago I started seeing a dietician and dealing with why I over eat as well (With a therapist I am doing Scheama therapy). It has been life changing for me. I am no longer dieting (as this was actually part of the problem for me).
I am eating proper food in sensible portions. Each meal is about a handful of protein, handful of carbs and two hand fulls of vegetables. I have also slowed my eating down and put my knife and folk down regularly. It is incredible how doing these small changes makes such a difference. I don't deprive myself of any food. Nothing is off limits, it is about feeling so full with nutritionally dense and proper food I don't overeat the less healthier stuff. My dietician also requested that my doctor did a blood screening and this showed up that I had low iron stores, so I am taking iron.
Through eating properly I have already lost weight. Because of my food issues I am not supposed to weigh myself, however I have been on the 1st of each month - I thought a month was enough for me to loose weight and not let the small fluctuations derail my progress. So far I have lost about 2 stone (I am trying to do weigh loss very slowly so that I avoid the previous yo yo dieting)
I feel much better for loosing weight, emotionally but also I feel so much fitter. I have noticed I am not as out of breath, my headaches and brain fog have lifted and I am starting sleep better. A lot of my aches and pains are going as well.
If you can afford it a dietician is great and because of your condition they can tailor advice for you. They about £85 for a session, but you only need one session.
Good luck, you can do it - even if it is slow don't focus on the weigh loss. Focus of filling you body with nutrition. Eating properly gives you energy, will make you feel more active and the weightloss will follow. x

Thanks all. I know i owe it to myself and my family to be healthier. Just hard getting that motivation.
