From today I have decided to lose weight but
cannot get to my first ww class until next Tues. So for the next few days I am doing it alone. I have spoken to friends who have done ww and have gathered that I am allowed approx 22 points a day. I don't really want to buy all the branded ww foods with the points written on it so could you please let me know roughly what the following would be, point wise:

mug of coffee with semi skimmed milk
medium jacket potato with half tin of beans
Fish finger sandwich
cheerios with semi skimmed milk
portion of chilli with rice (what is a portion btw as I am sure I over-fill my plate!)

Any other tips on points would be much appreciated - what is free, all veg???

you are cheaper to go for a monthly pass btw - that way you also get access to the online points finder thingy. Think it works out about £17 per month. Will have a rummage and find out the points for you.

coffee - 0 (not sure about that small amount of milk)

med jacket pot - 2.5
3tbsp of beans (i think 7 is a full tin) - 2.5/3 i think
fish fingers - 1 point each
bread - brown/white or wholemeal - 1 point per slice
cheerios - 1.5 points per med serving (i think about 30g though not sure)
milk for cereal - 1
depends on the chilli - what is it made with?
white rice - 4.5 points per serving

Most veg is free - off the top of my head i know that sweetcorn isnt free. Most fruits have a points value though.

Thank you. Is it quite easy to get the hang of this points thing, or are you continually getting all the books out and looking it up.

I have done it a couple of times- only for a few weeks at a time mind you - i get easily bored of diets. It is pretty easy to get the hang of it - with the monthly pass you get access to esource which you can check the points on - i cancelled mine last month and still have the access to esource which is where i just checked the points for you on.
