Need to lose around 2st. Just signed up for the 7 day trial.

Tbh, the idea of having meal plans (shopping list) and exercise in one place is really appealing. I tend to spend hours trawling the web for recipes and then give up, so the fact that it’s done for me does get some brownie points.

But… I’ve read mixed reviews on here re Joe Wicks’ plan so am a bit reluctant too. I have seen in the past that unless you stuck to it religiously, then it’s easier to put weight on.

Maybe it’ll be the kickstart I need at the very least….

Let’s see - day 1 starts tomorrow.

Anyone else recently signed up?

Isn't that the case for most of these plans?

How easy is app and recipes to personalise? For example I am not vegetarian but eat very little meat so is there flexibility?

I haven’t used the app, but have a couple of his books and have done a few of his YouTube workouts and it seems pretty sensible - low carb and short bursts of intensive exercise. I got pretty fit a couple of years back doing HIIT. I like it because you’re supposed to get super hot and sweaty and red faced really quickly - I’d always thought that in other exercise programmes I was failing when I got out of breath straight away, but the whole ethos of HIIT is to get out of breath as quickly as possible and then recover. It gets easier really quickly.

His recipes are tasty and you get to eat carbs after exercise which feels doable (I love potatoes). 2 stone seems totally doable - I might try and join you! Good luck!

Well yes, but I think you have to do the exercise AND food religiously because the food alone is quite high in fat.

@Hobbes8 2st feels like loads.. no idea how long that would take me, but I need to do something.

Will see how I get on in this trial period before going back to work, hoping I can get in the swing of it…….

It doesn’t matter how long it takes you, or if you “only” lost one stone or 1.5 stone.

I didn’t think his food in the recipe books were super high fat. The problem with some low carb diets is that you eat loads of cream and cheese or bacon whatever, and then if you cave and have some toast, you’ve eaten all that fat and carbs as well! His recipes look much more moderate - stir fries and things that would be healthy anyway, but take out the bread/rice/noodles.

I don’t think the idea is you have to exercise loads to burn off the food you’re eating on the plan. The food is healthy anyway, but the exercise will make you even healthier.

@bonfireheart you can say at the beginning if you are veggie/vegan etc.

I’m not, so get all recipes, and there are plenty of meatless ones - halloumi, mozzarella features a bit.

Otherwise, lots of chicken, salmon etc.

Yes @Hobbes8, having 3 healthy meals per day instead of cereal plus cheese on toast plus crisps and chocolate will be a drastic improvement on my current lack of balanced diet.

I’m wfh (again) from next week which will be good as there’s quite a bit of cooking at lunchtime which would be tricky in the office….
