Starts way before Christmas in all honesty though. Long term yo- yo-er here. Have some serious post natal poundage to lose plus Christmas on top 😬

Have done every plan under the sun, lost well with Slimming World in the past - nearly 4 stone, but last few attempts have fallen flat. Lost well with Cambridge 1:2:1 plan but gained it all back when stopped being on the plan ( loved the plan but products expensive and lack of real/ fresh food long term was starting to drag)

No idea what to try now! I need a breast feeding friendly plan and have 4.5 stone to lose.

Would love to hear ideas of what plan people are on, diet or even self devised healthy eating that is working well re: weight loss.

Am exclusively breast feeding which prohibits a lot of the restricted calorie plans like the Cambridge, fasting, Keto etc. Shame as actually going into Ketosis on Cambridge was really effective for me but I’d have to wait until I stop bf as can be dangerous for breast feeders (also ketones go into the milk which can be harmful to baby)

Anyone else out there struggling to lose while breast feeding? I am not eating a lot ( even missing some meals due to juggling baby and toddler full time) but feel my body is holding onto its fat stores and won’t let go!

How old is your baby? After my first, I couldn't shift a pound (combi-feeding) until my body decided it was good and ready, which I think was around a year post-partum, then I shrunk nearly overnight - lost inches off waist and hips, and an entire shoe size! Could this be the same for you?

In terms of the best diet I ever had, it was a self-devised 'planet diet' where basically I didn't eat anything that was demonstrably bad for the planet eg lots of packaging or from far away. It worked for me as I was really keen to play my part in looking after the environment. I managed to lose three stone, household waste went from a bin bag to a carrier bag per week, and I ate a lot of fresh local food, or homemade cake or bread. It all went out the window when Covid arrived and with it lots of long-life (ie processed) food, but I'd like to get back on it in the new year!

Good luck with your weight loss Smile

Hiya, thanks for your reply- baby is 5 months old. Ah I would love that! Think I have a way to go though as still early doors, but will stay hopeful for similar!

Wow I have never heard of that but sounds like a brilliant idea and very environmentally friendly. I have noticed the quality of the online shopping fresh fruit & veg offering has declined in recent months, buying local and fresh sounds tempting

I did ww after baby number one and lost a lot, was sooo close to goal then covid happened and gained it all back! You get extra points for breastfeeding so it works really well when I'm in the zone. My new baby is 3.5 months and exclusively breastfed. I rejoined at 6 weeks pp, took most of December off as had lots of Christmas things planned, now struggling to get back into it. I've bought some new clothes as a treat for reaching the next stone bracket, I still have two stone to lose. It's so hard when you are ravenous all the time!

I would definitely recommend weight watchers, they’ve changed the plan recently and not sure if you’re supposed to use when breast feeding, but it’s based a lot more around healthy foods being zero points to encourage a lower sugar/refined carb diet with loads of healthy veg and lean protein etc.
