For being more healthy & taking better care of yourself?

Mine are:

To actually get back into exercise
To drink more water
To start weights
To fast again
To use phone less
To speak to someone other than my GP about revising my HRT so that it works better for me

And I feel so sick from all the Christmas cheese that I am going to start tomorrow!

To lose weight so that I don’t feel ugly around my parents and sister. Whenever I hug my Mum (who has advanced dementia and needs a lot of reassurance) she squeezes me to appraise how much padding there is (a lot, sadly).

I want to lose 5 stone.

ArblemarzipanTFruitcake · 27/12/2021 13:25

I lost a lot of weight last year - I want to lose the last 1/2 stone this year and then maintain.

My resolution is several-fold - not to give up before I lose the last 1/2 stone but not to fall into the trap of wanting to lose more and more (which I have done in the past).

And never to be afraid of weighing myself. Better to know the worst and get a grip than to bury your head in the sand.

ParkheadParadise · 27/12/2021 13:32

Drink more water
That's the only one I have because I never keep resolutions.

ScabbyHorse · 27/12/2021 18:49

Learn piano

To just generally be more healthy - physically and mentally.

This will include moderating my food intake. I have bought some new scales that give fat readings etc.

More water.

Far far far less alcohol.

More exercise.

Giving fewer fucks about work.

I am hoping this combination will be successful in making 2022 a good year for me health wise Xmas Grin

Lottapianos · 27/12/2021 21:55

'Giving fewer fucks about work'
Love this😊

Mine are mostly about continuing good stuff that I've already started:
2 litres of water a day
4 strength training sessions a week
2 yoga classes a week
No processed sugar in the week
Cook one new recipe every week
Bed early and read for an hour Mon-Fri

happychristmasbum · 27/12/2021 22:02

Oh yes - I forgot that one - more sleep Smile

wow I am going to be FULL OF ENERGY!!! And looking fantastic!

Snow1n · 27/12/2021 22:06

To do a decent amount of self care

galacticpixels · 27/12/2021 22:41

I've tried to start from today with getting better instead of waiting until the new year.

My main goal is to get to a healthy weight by my 30th birthday in June.

More specific goals:

  • Meet my step goal every day, work out 3 times week, get back into regular yoga, and lots more hiking!
  • Continue working on my sleep routine.
  • Read a little bit every day.
Crepusculum · 28/12/2021 10:50

My weight related one is:

  • When I'm not losing weight to maintain it

Something I am every aware that I have never managed to do. I know that I can and will lose weight but this one...this is where my challenge really is. As part of that there will be other resolutions but all I have so far is

  • Weigh in every day when I am at home (and remember) for the full year
  • Work at getting more in my life so eating and drinking aren't a default activity
PurpleDaisies · 28/12/2021 10:52

Cook more instead of using freezer food/take away.
That’s always the one that makes a biggest difference to me.

crazyjinglist · 28/12/2021 10:59
  • Drink more water
  • Get back to my regular exercise routine (I was going really well and felt great for it, but fell off the wagon for the whole of December!)
  • Keep a food diary to try and get to the bottom of what's causing my various intolerance/allergy symptoms
  • NOT go on a diet. Ever again. They don't work. And not have any goals, just good habits. Goals do not motivate me - they set up a succeed/fail mentality which I find very unhelpful for sticking at things! Just focus on eating lots of good stuff and sticking to the above resolutions.
JingleBells4 · 28/12/2021 20:18

My goals are to lose 2 stone in time for my 40th in June and to be generally healthier.

  • drink more water (8 glasses a day)
  • 1 x 20 min workout before breakfast
  • 1 x 45 min brisk walk per day
  • Eat 3 healthy meals a day

My freezer is now empty following Christmas. I'm going to batch cook some healthy family meals while I am still off work.

I am going to a work conference in 6 weeks. It is my short term goal to make a good start so that I can wear my formal business clothes that I used to wear pre-covid.

PurpleDaisies · 28/12/2021 20:32

I’m not waiting until new year. Forced myself off the sofa for a swim and it felt great!

ILoveSushi12345 · 28/12/2021 20:44

Quit smoking, cut back massively on booze, eat healthier, start reading again maybe even writing, try CBD oil, get a new job and drop working Fridays, make more of an effort with my appearance on weekends instead of traipsing round the offy looking like the most manically depressed crack head in town, go swimming weekly again.

PrisonerofZeroCovid · 30/12/2021 10:08

Do 16:8. It works for me and it's not hard to stick to. Need to lose 20lbs. Thought my scales had broken. Bought new ones. Scales weren't broken. I've just gained a lot of weight since September.

ThinWomansBrain · 30/12/2021 10:49

Eat healthily
Get back into regular 10k steps daily - or 6 days a week
Lower blood sugar
Loose weight
De-clutter apartment

I'm going to kick start with a super low calorie diet for a few weeks, then get back to sensible eating patterns & calorie intake. I know that a kick start will make it easier!

ThinWomansBrain · 30/12/2021 10:52

forgot, also to establish better sleep patterns
