Calorie Deficit

I have a history of binge eating and yo-yo dieting. I can range a full 4 stone in a short space of time.

I am desperate to change my lifestyle and stop the binge eat cycle. With a BMI of 35 I need to lose weight but I am aware my relationship with food is unhealthy. I thought I’d give a ‘simple’ calorie deficit approach a go, starting with 1400 calories per day. Previously my weight loss has been centred around low carbing but in order to stop the ‘good food bad food’ mentality id like to eat a more balanced diet and not restrict myself, learn to eat in moderation and with an awareness.

With that in mind, does it matter how many carbs/protein I tally up?

look at team rh fitness. My BMi was 29, and they had me on 1800 cals a day. I imagine you would be on more than that if your bmi is higher. They give you protein and fibre goals in addition to the calorie goal. But apart from hitting those targets you can eat what you want.
I found eating that many calories easy to stick to, and got to goal this week (40lbs off), losing weight on 1800 cals a day all the way. 1400 sounds a bit low to make it easy to stick too IMO. Good luck.

Thank you. Where can I find team rh fitness?

They have a Facebook page, and then I think that gives all the info on how to join there. It is only £5 or so a month.
I already had figured out a lot of what he said for myself, when I was running and lost most of my weight, but then injured myself (and comfort ate the weight back on) and had to think again re losing weight without running. He encourages you to walk, which I was able to do, and refined what I was doing eg hitting protein goals to help stay full.
