Something to chew?

Since COVID –and an elderly dog –put a stop to a number of my usual after-work activities, I got into a habit of watching movies and snacking throughout the evening. I've put on about 5kg, which isn't a huge amount in the grand scheme of things, but I really notice it on me.

So I've picked up my exercise routines a bit, and my current focus is not eating after 6pm, but it's a bit of a willpower struggle right now!

I've spent a bit of time analysing my urges to go to the fridge once the evening hits, and I'm definitely not hungry –I just want something to do with my mouth...

What's something –other than gum –that I can chew on in the evenings without racking up the calories?

What about hard boiled sweets? They do packs in Aldi, and they are 10 calories per sweet

Dried mango is very chewy. No idea how many cals though

Not what you asked but I used to snack throughout the evening and I stopped it - partly by willpower, partly by brushing my teeth at 6pm. I am deeply lazy and hate brushing my teeth, so once I've done it I don't want to do anything that means I have to do it again BlushGrin
I then drink unsweetened fruit tea after which satisfies any need for something in my mouth without messing with the brushing.

I turn to ice. The slightly smaller silicone-bottom trays, which I half fill and freeze and then suck/crunch my way through them between my main meal and pudding - that gives me time to feel full. Probably shocking for teeth though!
