Anyone use / have any good tips or tricks for weightloss?

I've started to make sure I have a bottle of water with me if I don't have easy access to food and put the treadmill on very slow so I'm motivated to at least go on it! Doing tummy clenches in bed also.

The best thing I ever did was start weighing and logging my food on My Fitness Pal.

I’m in my mid 40’s and always ate ‘healthily’ but it has honestly been a huge eye opener to realise how many extra/hidden calories I’ve actually been eating. It’s a shocker!

I think you only have to eat 100 calories over your target calories each day to put nearly a stone on in a year! 100 calories is a slice of dry bread, one and 1/4 chocolate digestives, 2 inches of dry French stick -i.e hardly anything!

It’s helped me make better choices so that I eat properly, still have treats and don’t ever feel hungry.

Good luck!

I've never recorded what I eat yet. I'm a bit aprehensive at embarrasing mysel and feel I would struggle sticking to a limit, but thinking I've tried pretty much everything else and only me will be viewing it so not really anything to lose, just some weight hopefully!

There are times I’ve been Blush at how many calories worth of chocolate I’ve eaten but no one ever sees it but me. I imagine that struggling to stick to a limit (portion size) is why we all find ourselves in the situation of needing to lose weight in the first place tbh.

It’s important to be totally honest or else it just won’t work so you have to record the good and the bad so even those days you blow the target. Just get back on track the next day.

It takes time initially but, once you’ve got all your favourite (your frequently eaten) things recorded you can just record them next time you eat them at the click of a button. It has helped me lose around 3 stone and keep it off. I wish it had existed when I was younger!

Brush your teeth

Drink peppermint tea

Make sure you have enough water to drink

I second logging everything, it makes you very aware of how much you have eaten.

Plan ahead! If possible have ready your food for the day. I know that sounds extreme but that was how I broke my cycle of over eating. I have also managed to get the hang of mindful eating which helps me eat less.

I've gone back to drinking green tea. Going to make a chart of how much water I drink a day. For food, I'll just try not cooking too much to try reduce portion sizes as not motivated enough to calorie count yet.

I really noticed this last night as the food was just supposed to be for a couple of days worth but could feed me for a week!

Has anyone tried the fibre sachets you can get? I start trying having them then forget after a few days so don't know if it helps for weight loss.

I've gone on the treadmill as soon as I've got home the last couple of days, hopefully this is a more reliable routine. I've been making my own weetabix drinks too. This and a big banana on a night time seems to stop be binging as much too late at night.
