Ozempic

My friend has just started using ozempic for weight loss. He is 15kg over weight and has lost 5kg in 3 weeks. He has given me the name of the doctor in London who prescribes this for him. I am tempted (I am obese and have 20kg to lose.) I looked it up and I am confused at the number of people using it (Sarah vine, for example, and plugging it in her column in the daily mail,) yet it has warnings around it online that it could contribute to a form of thyroid cancer. I spoke to the doctor and my friend who said that the dose that you take it to lose weight is not the dose that can play a part (along with other factors) in triggering the particular thyroid cancer that it is supposed to trigger.

Both of them are saying to me that if you are obese, the rewards outweigh the risks. I think I have become so depressed by being so overweight and unable to shift the pounds that I am tempted.

What do you all think?

You can have a telephone consultation with any private prescriber - Private Doc , Health Express even Lloyds pharmacy

They will assess you for Ozempic, Saxenda, Mysimba , Orlistat - which ever you are interested in

If suitable - they will provide the private prescription, it's up to you if you can cope with the side affects

Some of these not available on NHS so no pony asking GP

Worth researching thoroughly
