Scales that show weight change but not starting weight?

I'm beginning the weight loss journey yet again, after swearing I wouldn't ever need to again. I lost about 10kg two years ago, but it's all come back on and more. I can tell that even my loose clothes are too tight and my body "feels" far heavier than it's ever done before.

But I'm scared to step on the scales! I really want to chart my weight loss but can't bring myself to see that starting number. Are there any scales which would just record my weight without displaying it, and then after that only calculate how much it's changed each time (e.g. -1kg from the starting weight). I can do this on my kitchen scales when I weigh out food into a bowl, so surely there ought to be a scale that does it for a person??

It sounds silly, but I just can't face seeing that number to begin with.

Can you not change the scales to kg? Kg mean nothing to me I still work with stone and lbs so I wouldn't have a clue what it equated to if I weighed in kg. Then you could weigh every week and see the kg going down.

I meant to say change it to lbs not kg.

Could you ask a trusted friend to weigh you and chart your loss. I good friend wouldn't judge you x

Other than asking a friend or family to do the weighing in I can’t see a way around it.

I completely understand and absolutely hate the scales and it’s always worse than what I think as well - I’ll think OH ITLL ONLY BE HALF A STONE then I jump on and it’s over a stone Confused

Weight doesn’t really matter though so how about just making the changes to your eating and exercise for now, give it 4 weeks and go by your clothes. If you feel ready for it then you can get on the scales?

I have a pair of jeans I swear by, I know what I weigh roughly for them to fit and I just try them on every couple of weeks when I’m trying to lose fat
