Just that really. I’m not hugely enamoured with any of my body, but this part is the worst. Has anyone actually had any success in losing it?

Absolutely, I have 2 DC and only started exercising after they were born, i found SlimmingWorld worked for me to lose weight although i know it's not for everyone. One thing i did notice though whilst losing weight is that i had to feel hungry to really see results so it was tough but I feel great now knowing i can have treats when i want and feel much better mentally and physically for exercising

You absolutely can make changes if you aren’t happy. I lost weight after my 2 kids and although my stomach isn’t washboard yet (and probably won’t be), because I feel the amount of commitment to exercises I don’t enjoy isn’t worth it, however, I am now a comfortable size 10 and feel pretty good about my body.

I would recommend overall weight loss by drinking more water and being mindful about what you are eating, focus on lean protein fruit and veg. Then find something that you enjoy doing exercise wise. I have joined a mums netball team and started running which has been great, but find something you enjoy, otherwise you will really struggle to keep it up.

I think it's possible. I lost overall weight, 3 stone after my son was born over about a year. Then I do pilates to tone my stomach and it's pretty hard now. Helps me to understand the source of my weight gain so you know where to cut back

It is absolutely possible, if you really want to do it and make it a priority. I’ve done it, but put it back on again a few times. I just lose focus. I’ve never done targeted exercise though, just eaten far less and walked. The weight came off but I didn’t sustain it.

Yes, but it will be diet not exercise that does it. It's not easy to lose enough body fat that the belly goes flat and may not be sustainable. You need to be realistic.

Surely specific exercise would be crucial along with dieting?

You can't reduce fat by specific exercises. You can have the most toned mid section in the world but if you have body fat covering it up you won't have a 6 pack.
