Scales don’t change whether I am ‘good’ or ‘bad’

I’m trying to lose 1.5 stone of remaining baby weight and have reached a situation where my food intake doesn’t seem to be making any difference to the scales at all. I got down to 11 st 9lbs (target is 10 st 7) then had a very bad week. Went back up to 11st 13. Then it stuck.

Now, whether I stuff my face and snack or eat much less the scales stay put. I’ve been ‘good’, a little more restricted than usual even, for the last 4 days and nothing to show for it. What’s going on?? Getting very frustrated and demoralised :(

Oh and I’m properly hungry a LOT too, reason I’m awake and posting now as I just had to come downstairs to eat as I can’t sleep as too hungry! I had sweet and sour chicken and rice for dinner, a pretty big portion too! WTF 😳

No advice just feel your pain!

Hi! I have this all the time and a personal trainer showed me her daily weighings and how her weight changed. Basically, bodies can be weird like that. It doesn't mean you haven't burned fat, sometimes it just takes a bit of time, then suddenly appears. She did the exact same exercise and calories, there would be a week of no loss showing on scales, then in week two suddenly the two week's worth! It evens out into a straight-ish line over months but over weeks it dips up and down. Plus, if the scale goes up drastically after a few days of being bad, that's not you gaining pounds of fat. You're bloated and your digestive system is overloaded. Just keep at it and give it a bit of time!

Thanks @Flowers500 that’s heartening I suppose. Maybe I should weigh myself less, but then I feel like I could fall more drastically off the wagon! Does your PT take measurements too? Does that work in the same way or more instant?
