Hello!
I am 18 weeks pp and want to be healthy and lose weight without effecting milk supply,
What’s the best weight loss guide? My gp doesn’t want to help or point me in any direction
I have tried weight watchers but don’t like their new set up, I’d like to know how many calories And it doesn’t tell you !

I'm really interested to see what people suggest.

I'm 11 months breastfeeding and really struggling to lose my baby weight. I lost about half but no matter how little I eat, I can't seem to shift the rest

I’d eat 1600-1700 calories a day and see what happens.

Ive heard lots of positive things about Slimming World when Breast Feeding. Haven’t tried it yet but that’s my plan

Slimming World is recommended for safe weight loss when pregnant, so should be fine for breastfeeding.

I wouldn’t personally just cut calories below 2000, but I know I burn 2500-3000 currently while breastfeeding. Anything below that and I’d be concerned I’d affect my supply.

I’ve very slowly lost 6kg since May. Quite a few more to go, but would rather do it sustainably.

When bf it's recommended that you don't drop below 1800 calories a day to protect your supply.

Generally if you've been bf for 4m though your supply will be well established and shouldn't be effected by non-extreme dieting.

I've been able to lose baby weight 3 times while bf (currently still losing it with dc3 who's 6m). I find exercise is as important as calorie control for me. I also find it much easier to shift from 6m when they start solids- it's like my body goes "oh ok then, back to normal now" even though I fed the others till they were 2yrs.

I did weightwatchers following my 6 week check while bf. The plan had adjusted calories for full then partial feeding (I bf for ages). For me it was practical and sensible and because I was breastfeeding I could eat loads - I think it encouraged me to have a more nutritious diet than if I hadn’t dieted, and there was wiggle room for brownies with the NCT ladies etc - I think a more restrictive plan would be too isolating with a young baby. Good luck.
