I've just signed up but plan to do bootcamp light.

I've been losing carbing since Mid June with the odd lapse related to 🍷 and have around 9lb left to target. I know alcohol is my downfall and low carb sweet treats usually lead to more sweet treats so it will be good to have done thing to keep me on track. Plus I am terrible for not drinking water ... usually mid line coffee from getting up to mid afternoon then decaf till bed time plus booze.

1st week will be interesting as I have a 4 day work trip including dinner with the team each night and apparently they usually go for pizza. (it's my 1st trip - they go annually).

I'd say - deal with what you can and don't stress about what you can't influence. So start with the water. That's an easy one to fix.

A 4 day trip can't be pizza every day, so make the wisest choices you can when it's not pizza night. If it's pizza, and there genuinely isn't anything else to have, then give in with grace and enjoy the pizza. You clearly know what to do, as you've lost so well and don't have that far to go!

Enjoy your trip. Smile

Thanks BiWI - I do know what I need to change - I just need a bit of a kick and to be kept accountable... Hence signing up / I've been lurking on the boot camp threads on and off for a long time.

My long term aim is to make some permanent changes to the way we eat as a family rather than being on a "diet".

Work wise I'll do my best to choose good options without being awkward/weird with colleagues but avoiding the worst... I did quite well on a recent night out for curry... we ordered a massive mixed selection of dishes between 10 of us, and I just avoided the rice, naans etc and opted for the grilled dishes or fish and stuck to gin & tonic to drink (and just tonic when it was my round).

I think this is very sensible and, actually, probably a major factor in success. I'm always amazed by the number of people who think that they have to cook separate meals for the rest of the family. Nothing wrong with other family members going without pasta or rice or potatoes!

My own rule is that if I'm cooking, I cook what I want. Grin
