So I’m on a mission to lose a few stone! I’m overweight and miserable. I can’t wear what I want and I have zero confidence. I’m 26 and I don’t want to look back when I’m in my thirties thinking I’ve wasted most of my twenties being fat and miserable. I know the general rule is to eat less calories and move more but I’m just wondering if there are any extra tips that have helped anyone.

Hi @Fedup1995. After many many failed attempts I’m finally managing to stick with my current plan and the change for me has been planning my meals in advance and entering them fully into mfp (weighing and not guessing like I used to do ) and upping my protein as this fills me up. I’m not remotely low carbing but I’m making an effort to include protein at every meal and trying out high protein snacks (eg Skyr yogurt). When I’m not hungry I’m not even interested in food so it’s completely cut out my endless snacking, and I make sure I have nice meals to look forward to. I’m currently using Hello Fresh for our evening meals and often have a portion left over for the next day’s lunch, so that stops me getting bored of eating the same things every day too.

I have honestly never stuck to anything for more than a couple of days but I’m really enjoying my food now and like being organised in advance so I don’t find myself starving with nothing good to eat.

I found getting a personal trainer worked best for me. Some are better than others, but the woman I use set up calorie & protein goals, steps per day, and made up 3 gym work outs for me to do. Doing sessions with her made me more confident in the gym/ using equipment as well. She’d check up every day, I found the accountability really helpful.

New PT at gyms normally have introductory prices & mines even had a Black Friday sale, so look around. Or an online set up (which I believe to be a lot cheaper) might be better for you, the body coach or team RH.

Good luck!
