I needed to lose a small amount of weight and improve my diet for health reasons (risk of diabetes) I have done this but I dont know what happens now!

If I keep eating what I eat now will i just stabilise at some point arather than keep losing - im not fussed anout losing anymore?

Or can I eat a little extda what to stay at this point. I know I cant revert to my old eating habits without gaining.

I just want to be stable

As you lose weight, you need fewer calories to sustain your new, lower weight. So eventually, if you continued eating the same number of calories forever (and I'm assuming here that you're eating 1500 calories or more per day, so a level that you could maintain long term if you wished) you would lose enough weight that the calories you eat keep you at that level weight.

However, if you've now lost the amount of weight you wish to, then you can slowly add in some more food/calories. Add in a bit and give it a few weeks to see if you're still lose weight. If you are then add a little more. Keep doing this until you find your personal sweet spot where you don't lose weight (and also don't put it back on!)

Good luck, you've done the hard work now so take this step slowly to ensure you don't overeat and put the weight back on!

Thank you. That makes sense.

I'm in a similar boat, although a little more extreme, lost 2.5st over the last 20 months on 1600 kcal and exercise for health reasons, I'd still like to lose another 7-10lb, but am a healthy BMI and can get in clothes I'd put away again. I tried stopping the calorie counting over Xmas and put on 7lb in a month or so, so that's not an option for me until I've learnt not to overeat.

I'm finding this so hard! As soon as I let myself have a small treat I lose control and end up stuffing my face. Sugar and some carbs are like a drug for me. Sad

Yes i am a bit worried about that too. They are very addictive. Ive been doing well and am worried that introducing an extea slice of bread to stabilise will turn into a whole loaf
