Does anyone have any tips for not over eating certain 'problem foods'

I've lost two stone this year which I am happy with but I need to keep it off in a sustainable manner.

I just can't resist eating chocolate (which I don't actually like that much it's like an addiction and zero nutritional value) and cheese which is just the best food in the world (slightly nutritional).

Any ideas? If I could stop over eating these food my diet would be great (well it would be ok).

Well done on your 2 stone weight loss, I've recently joined the same 'club' (after about 10 years of meaning to!)Grin. I don't have a sweet tooth so chocolate is not so much of a problem for me (more savoury here!) but I have moved to 85% cocoa chocolate and can only eat a very small square. It hits the spot but I don't need any more IYSWIM.

I have a similar issue with similar foods (savoury, mostly) and the only thing that works is not having them in the house. I am unable to self-regulate, so the only solution is not buying them.

I 'detox' every couple of weeks because I also get to a point where I almost feel sick from the disgusting amounts I eat each day. The key is avoiding supermarkets and if unable to do that, avoid the specific aisle Grin

@321zyx thank you and well done to you too! I wasn't far behind your ten years.

Great idea on the 85 % and ditch the Aldi jive bars (oh the shame they-were bought for dh packed lunches)

Measure out the fat, sugar and cocoa constituents. It hurts to see exactly what it is. I did similar with ice cream, ans I'm never tempted now.

Cheese is essentially a block of animal fat. View it like that. Imagine eating a slice of lard.

Don’t stop! You don’t need to stop! Plan for them. It you eat 1800 calories in a day for example, sacrifice something else somewhere to allow for some chocolate or cheese elsewhere. I am currently dieting but eat chocolate every night. Not a whole bar, obviously, but say a ritter sport mini or something else nice but portion controlled. Don’t ban foods!

If you can't avoid having these foods in the house I would recommend hypnotherapy. Changed my life!

Those are the foods I crave so much. I would happily live on cheese and chocolate if they contained all the nutrients I need.

Atm I'm trying to stick to cottage cheese and options hot chocolate as low cal versions of my fix. And not too often.

Migraines did the trick for me. Specifically the pukey sort.

Don’t shop when you’re hungry is the best tip I can give you.

Avoid the sweets aisle.
Don’t buy cheese.
If it’s not in the house, you can’t eat it.
