Those who’ve done one- would you recommend a VLCD?

I’ve got about 7 stone to lose, I know what I should be doing to lose it, I know it will take a while to lose it and I am desperate to lose it because I’m fed up of being uncomfortable 24/7.
Trouble is I have zero willpower- I can stick to something for 2 weeks ish and then I undo it by eating way too much again. I don’t know why, tiredness definitely seems to play a huge role
So I was wondering whether doing a vlcd for 3-4 weeks to kick start me would be a good idea? I’ve tried lipotrim in the past but the shakes and soups made me retch so that was short lived.
I need to do something, I can’t keep getting bigger

No expert but I saw no one has replied.

I have never taken shakes or meal replacements but I do think a radical change where you really go for it for a month can work. Do you like Mediterranean food? Would you be prepared to cook from scratch? The Fast800 might suit you. Real tasty food but low carb. There is a thread if you are interested. I did it years ago and am just starting again now (ate far too much especially freshly baked bread during lockdowns). It worked for me. My best advice is chuck or give away any junk in the house and meal plan. My second best advice is to set yourself 7 lb goals so you don’t get overwhelmed. Think where you want to be by Christmas and next Summer. Best of luck anyway.

If you have zero willpower you will not be able to follow a VLCD they require huge willpower.
Have you considered a gastric bypass?

Watching with interest. I have a similar amount to loose and can also do brilliantly for 2 weeks then boredom, cheating, self sabotaging creeps in.

Would not recommend one. Although you may feel motivated as the weight loss is fast, the initial losses are from glycogen and by the time you've done your refeed, returning to eating normal food, you will have spent as much time as losing the weight in a normal way. It's expensive and boring too!

I did one and it slowed down my metabolism. I ended up bigger than before because of leptin and ghrelin hadn't adapted enough and I hadn't dealt with the MH issues.

Also there's no point doing it for just a few weeks. You will put on a lot of the weight straight away as you'll have lost glucose rather than a lot of fat.

Im waiting on gallbladder surgery and being a fat cow, have been told to go on a vlcd for a fortnight first to shrink my liver. Slimfast has been advised.

I've never done one before having always believed them to be unhealthy and in fact if you lose too much on them you're at risk of developing gallstones, which is the exact reason I'm needing the surgery. Still j suppose two weeks isn't long enough and it many motivate me to shift the renainder after ll

Sorry for typos

I did cambridge. I know 3 people who did it successfully. All four of us are now back to heavier than starting weight. I was so convinced I would be different and keep it off.
