I have an event coming up in 40 days that I want to look amazing for. I have about ten pounds worth of baby weight + lack motivation to take care of myself because of lock down depression and general exhaustion. I want to be at my best at this event as it will be the first time seeing friends in over a year and there will be lots of photos, etc. In general I want to spend the next 40 days in deep self-care and really focus on eating well, weight loss and taking care of myself. I would love it if people joined me in this thread as a support to each other. So if anyone has some weight to lose and wants to do a 40 day sprint with me please join.

My goals:
Lose ten pounds/focus on toning up.
Keep calories to 1,200 per day
JM 30 day shred + Barre class (which I am already doing and want to alternate with 30 day shred).
Walk 10k steps per day
Go to bed by 10:30 each night
Daily five minutes of Tai Chi for stress relief

Hi, can join.

June 1st starting weight 16.7 stone
Today 15.7 and half.

I was massively over eating. Full large bar of chocs, bag of donuts, 4 packets crisps all in a day to myself since the beginning of December. Its emotional depression eating and I couldn't stop.

I have now sorted my head out to focus on this weight loss.

I'm eating lots of salad. No junk choc etc otherwise I would get a taste for it again.

Jessica60 Welcome. You sound like you're doing so well, I'm sure it was a struggle to start with.

Well done on your weight loss @Jessica60 and welcome!
I've stayed the same so far this week, despite being pretty good. Carrying on with the salads, soups and omelettes and hoping I'll get there!

Hi everyone and welcome @Jessica60

How did everyones week go? We have had family visiting this week which made my workout and eating plan a little tricky, I am looking forward to their departure this afternoon so I can get back to my normal schedule. One positive is that I have learned how great I am feeling with working out and I have started to crave the endorphins and the feeling of being strong and sticking to my goals. I have also noticed that my sleep has been terrible since my in laws have been in town and I think that is a direct result of not working out enough.

I don't think I have lost anymore weight (I've lost about a pound since we started this group) but DH commented that I look a firmer and I have noticed that my arms are smaller and more defined so that makes me feel good.

My plan for this coming week is getting back on the soup and salad regime, workout everyday, take a yoga class twice and do two days where I have two workouts just to shake things up a bit.

What are all of your plans for next week?

That's great @rosewater20, being firm and defined is much more important than weighing less.

Very impressed by your fitness regime. I've lost my exercise mojo a bit, but am walking more and doing some bodyweight exercises every day ( press ups, squats, crunches.) Weighed in for week 2 and another 1lb down. Annoyingly, it was 2lbs down yesterday, hopefully that'll go again with a few careful days.

Like you, I'm on the soup and salads and v little booze- dull, dull, dull, when I was younger I'd have been 9lb lighter by now!

ifonly4 · 29/06/2021 11:13

rosewater2 yes, we're all going to have lapses due to circumstances - main thing is you're back on it now. Great DH has noticed you're looking a bit more toned.

cathyandclare your fitness regime actually sounds pretty good.

I sat and watched a few people eat pizza yesterday lunchtime, so couldn't resist buying one. Very good in the end, I bought a thin crust one, only had a quarter and large salad for tea. Been to my exercise class this morning - it was a tough one!

ifonly4 · 03/07/2021 15:15

Lost 1lb this week - I'm happy with that as I've gone down the route of trying to cut back on biscuits/wine and chosing smaller portions/lowest calorie options when I can, rather than as strict diet.

Keep meaning to take my bike out and I got around to it this morning, as well as some tai chi. Crashed out watching tv now.

cathyandclare · 05/07/2021 09:17

Well done @ifonly4- sounds like a sustainable approach.

2.5lbs down this week. I also re-measured my height and am actually 5'2 not 5'3 maybe those pounds were all height!!! Grin

I've got 10 days before my op, aiming for another 2lb by then. Good luck everyone.

Well done @cathyandclare @ifonly4! I am back at this week. Last week I was feeling very lathergic, and did manage to get in few workout classes but I am feeling much better this week and did a 60 minute barre class yesterday and have another planned for today. I have also booked in a pilates reformer class. I have relaxed a bit on the extreme calorie counting. I was just so hungry all the time and couldn't stop thinking about food!
