Anyone doing low GI?

Signed up with the Tesco diets site ages ago but only managed to stick to it for 2 days .

Have just started again (half a pound heavier than my origanal weight) and have decided to do the low GI plan.

Am so fed up with myself and am getting bigger and bigger and bigger. I can't seem to stick with anything for more than a day.

Hi Buda,

Try this it worked for me and there is nothing to stick to!

Eat ONLY organic food - if it's not organic, do NOT even consider eating it as the pesticides, insectisides, fertilisers and ripening sprays used in inorganic farming act as synthetic hormones which can affect your metabolisum and hormone balance and make you put on weight.

As organic produce is slightly more expensive and the range is more limited this also helps!

This is exactly what I did, no cutting out of fats, carbs and sugars, no extra exercising, just the swap to organic.

I dropped 2 dress sizes!

The weight loss was slow but it was steady and I am confident that it will stay off.

As an added bonus, the food all tasted better!

Sounds good but unfortunately I am in Budapest and although there is some organic stuff available there isn't as much as in UK.

You could try shopping only at organic stores such as these
www.chew.hu/organic_options_increase_in_bu.html
www.biokultura.org/angol/market/organicshops.htm
And visiting organic markets such as these
www.biokultura.org/angol/market/organicmarket.htm
Finding the outlets for organic produce can be a bit of a ball ache, no matter where you live, but with a little bit of research they are out there and once you've found them the rest is easy!

Wow! Thanks for all that!

I did Gi after birth of DS1 and have just started again a year and a bit after birth of DS2. Easiest, healthiest and fastest diet I've ever done and last time took me from a 16-18 to a size 12 pretty quickly. This time after just two weeks I can feel an enormous difference although I don't weigh myself. Look up the archive and you'll find lots of mums who have used this diet successfully and lost stones.

My tips...
eat porridge and skimmed milk for breakfast...it fills you up and makes the whole day easier from then on.
Cut out as much caffeine as you can and have green tea (which has caffeine and speeds up your metabolism)
Only eat new potatos and make them in to warm salads etc.
Eat Bulghar wheat instead of rice. You can use it to make rissottos as well.
Limit your pasta intake.
Don't let yourself get too hungry and eat as much meat, fish and veg as you want.
Have lots of filling soups i.e. lentils.
Oh and cut out alcohol unless on a night out.
Do it for 2 weeks and I guarantee you'll be hooked and healthy and a whole load slimer.
Good luck

Thanks robin3. Good to hear.

I have had muesli for breakfast this morning. Porridge doesn't fill me up. Had it on Thursday at 8am and was starving by 10.

About to make a huge pot of veg and lentil soup.

Well weighed myself this morning and I have lost 3lbs!

Happy so far!

Feeling mentally ready to keep at it.

Well done Buda!
Keep at it!
But try not to be tempted to weigh yourself too often as you can fluctuate a pound here and there just because of how hydrated you are and other random things and it could demoralise you!
once a week/fortnight should be often enough to track your progress

I know Pk but over the last few years I have been really bad at sticking to any form of diet so I know this will help me.

Well done on the weightloss anyway chuck, you've done really well so far and seem to have found a diet that fits you so stay with it and if you slip up just over look it and carry on as if the mishap never happened!
Good luck and stay confident!
