I seem to be gaining a stone each year. My waist has expanded as has my previously lovely tones arms 😭. I'm not going through the menopause yet but my body is definitely changing shape. Any advice on diet and exercise?

Hi Melt, I searched in the weightloss posts and this thread came up. I'm in the same boat. I'm 5"2 and can't afford to keep gaining at the rate I am. I avoid mirrors and reflective surfaces 😒. I'm so fed up. I have dug out my old WeightWatchers books (from 2007, I was a whole stone lighter and thought I was fat 🙄) and I am waiting to restart my gym membership over next few weeks. I'm waiting until my gym restarts fitness classes such as pilates so I can get my money worth, although I intend to go to the gym too. Hope your fitness/weightloss journey is getting off to a good start, but if you fancy being weightloss buddies and try to help each other stay on track please feel free to get in touch. Tbh reading about weightloss after 40 (much like pregnancy after 40) makes for very gloomy reading so any positivity appreciated!!

What’s changed? Do you think you’re exercising less or less intensely that before? Are you eating a bit less well?

Also to add, I do have much advice but really believe it's the old fashioned route of calories in need to be less than calories burned. Boring but true, I found the old weightwatchers, pre 2011, gave me the best results when losing weight post pregnancy so.im hoping to try that again. I've the old books and nearly remember a lot of point values by heart from doing it on and off over many years. I won't expect the same results as fast, but hoping to stay on track. I joined the gym in January 2020 and was really enjoying it, hasn't noticed much change to my figure, but certainly felt fitter and stronger. Lockdown meant that ended but I hope I'll feel as enthused when I return.

Public Health England have started this - www.nhs.uk/better-health/

Means you can get discounts to weight watchers etc.

Worth also checking your local councils website as they may have better discounts for different weight loss programs depending on your weight.
