How to tackle peri-menopause weight gain?

Hello everyone,
I've been peri menopausal for nearly a year and have gained weight despite my daily diet not changing.
The weight has all settled around my middle. I've always been a hour glass shape - big boobs and hips with a waistline but waist has literally disappeared and I now have quite a rounded stomach.
My usual weight loss diet isn't working, I was wondering if anyone has found a diet that helps with this?

Thanks schiedel and well done!
I've been really struggling with reducing my carbs lately as the weather was so cold and wet that I just craved bread and potatoes!
Luckily the warmer weather has meant that my appetite has reduced and I've found replacing my milky sugary coffees with water much easier in this heat.
I've not eaten any carbs (as in refined/ processed) this week, only eaten once a day as I've been so busy and can definitely feel a difference. Just need to keep it up!

If you are near the sea take up open water swimming. I was always thin but have put on a few pounds recently although I do eat a lot and don't plan to change that as I love food (bad food) but also love being thin

Anyway I have upped the swimming and the pounds have melted away. It must be the cold although i do wear a wetsuit

I'm 42 so I assume I am peri-menopausal. I am actually slimmer than I have been for about 20 years, as I discovered the combination that works for me is 16:8 combined with low (not no) carb.

Honestly I tried everything over the years and yoyo-ed up and down, but this is the only thing that has really worked and been sustainable. But different things work for different people, a friend of mine who is 45 is having great success with weight-watchers which I couldn't get on with. So I don't think there is a one size fits all for weight loss in your late 30s/40s you've got to find what works for you and that will be through trial and error.
