'Mum belly loss help'

I've had 2 babies in 2 years. The 2 years of lockdown.

I have a 15 month old and a 7 week old. I didn't gain an excessive amount of weight but all of my clothes no longer fit me because my belly remains the shape of a 3 month pregnancy body. I hate it.

I'm eating healthier, going for a walk nearly every day just wandering if anyone has any other tips to help me lose the mum belly? I can't go to the gym or a run etc as my husband owns his own shop and works 7 days a week. I need ideas for exercises etc that can be done at home around 2 young babies if anyone has any?

TIA

Following with interest and supporting with sympathy, I am another with 2 under 2 both in lockdown with a 14month age gap.....if ever we chose the difficult route eh?!! I feel like I spent so long in maternity clothes that I dont know what suits me anymore and cannot stand wearing tight Jean's one day longer!

You may have diastasis recti- a women’s physio would be able to identify this easily. It means there is a gap between your stomach muscles. There are lots of exercises to help - but I would really recommend getting seen by a women’s physio if it is in any way an option (cost me £50).

The simplest exercise she gave me was also the most effective: stand in front of a mirror and put your fingers on your tummy. Suck it in. Then let it out halfway - don’t let it touch your fingers. Suck in again and repeat, 20 times. Do this three times a day. (She had me gradually increasing this to 50 times!) It’s a brilliant exercise as it’s the sort of thing you can do while waiting for the kettle to boil - you don’t have to be in front of a mirror.

I have had one baby and I'm pregnant with my second. I wasn't happy with my body before getting pregnant for second time.
I'm going for lipo after baby number two is born and I stop breastfeeding.

@Dugi3 we definitely did pick the difficult route but wouldn't change them for the world. At least they have their own built in bestie. Mine are both boys 😊

@MyCatHatesOtherCats, thank you the tip, will deffo give that a go 😊

I hope this doesn't come across as harsh (because it is meant to be kindSmile) but your body wouldn't have fully recovered from the first pregnancy before it was growing another human. And your youngest is still very tiny.
It will take time for everything to recover. In the meantime eat a good, balanced and healthy diet (but not go ON a diet as you need lots of nourishment after growing 2 humans in a little over a year). Try light exercises like walking and swimming (assuming you've been signed off from your postnatal checkups). Don't try vigorous exercise or an exercises as you WILL make it worse as your muscles need to heal to properly hold everything in before you start jiggling around too much.
Check out Mutu system for sensible and gentle postnatal exercises.

I also have 2 boys, when it's difficult I use the ready made best friend thoughts or the 'at least it's all out of the way at once' thoughts haha! Also wonder when the day will come when I venture out of the essential massive pants from c section that have now just become a thing for life!

@stuckinarutatwork doesn't sound harsh at all, thank you for the info. Il have a google on the myth system as I've never heard of that before.

@Dugi3 maternity pants are now my way of life, I'm still living in them 😂🙈
