Cereal diet anyone?

Just wondering if anyone ever does the old Kellogg's cereal diet, not as a long term diet just as a bit of a boost to get you going?
You don't see it advertised anymore, it was everywhere 10-15 years ago!
Thanks

It's a good step to diabetes I would think. Carbs make you hungry- it kicks off the insulin cycle.

Better to kick start with a few days of fruit and veg, with some eggs for protein to keep you feeling full.

If you want to start with a 'fad' few days.

Wasn't that the special k diet.

I tried it years ago and was starving, you could only have 30g of cereal with a dash of skimmed milk for breakfast and lunch then a low calorie dinner. It would have worked I'm sure as very low calorie and high fibre. Only problem was I was so hungry I couldn't stick to it.

Thanks pickle, I remember it as being replacing 2 meals with healthy cereal and the 3rd meal being very nutritious

But you're right it's not the best way, it's probably why it has disappeared

I had a colleague who used to do this about 15 years ago. She'd do it for a week and lose half a stone. The problem is it rapidly goes back on again when you stop!

I don't think any cereal is particularly healthy, they are mostly all just a massive carb fest - the one thing you want to cut down on if you want to lose weight. Most cereals will raise your insulin levels which will ensure you don't lose weight in the long term!

Yeah it's a daft idea. Better to just start having regular meals of "real food" like eggs, fish, fruit, veg.

However I did replace my breakfast of "whatever I vaguely feel like in the fridge" to a regular portion of All Bran instead, and I think that's helped me over the last year!

You could also potentially look into Huel but I eventually lost interest in that.
