Does anyone else binge “treat” foods?

Just wondering if anyone else has this problem and what you do about it?

I should say I am not overweight. I am 5’4” and weigh between 9st2 and 9st7 and am generally pretty good and keeping my weight between those margins through mostly sensible eating, exercise and weighing myself regularly.

However whenever I decide to buy myself a treat I always end up eating the whole thing until I feel sick and then feel really guilty afterwards. Just now I went to eat a little bit of Easter egg, put the rest back in the cupboard and 10 minutes later I found myself eating the entire thing. I always do it. If I buy myself a packet of Kit Kat’s I end up eating all of them, ice cream I munch my way through the whole tub. I always feel so guilty afterwards and I’m starting to think I just shouldn’t buy myself treats because I just have no self control.

Anyone else do this? How do you stop?

This is me! Once I get started on food I love I find it so hard to stop, especially if it's sugar, crisps, cheese etc.

I think I am a 'feaster'. I was watching a programme the other day about diets on C5 and apparently feasters have less of a gut hormone that tells you when to stop eating. I couldn't find a clip but looks like there was a BBC programme about it a few years ago:

Apparently the answer is to change the type of foods you eat to higher protein, low GI food: downloads.bbc.co.uk/scotland/tv/rightdiet/feasters.pdf

There's also a quiz on this page which tells you which type of eater you are: In search of a personalised diet www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-30709297

@buymycurlers it's by Gillian Riley and called Eating less.

Quite liking it is far.

I'm due my period and would often be halfway through my second run of ice cream followed by a takeaway by now. Instead I cooked a creamy risotto for tea and am now in a hot bath!

@HeronLanyon my absolute favourite is at a kids party where they have a big bowl with wotsits, frazzles and salt and vinegar chipsticks mixed. Literally cannot leave it alone!
