I'd say the starters are your main problem. Your ideal main course would be tandoori chicken with plain rice - I'd calculate that rather vaguely as likely to be around 8 points.

Don't do poppadoms unless you have saved a LOT of points in the week! And avoid a naan.

For a starter, a lot of Indian restaurants do a lentil soup, which may not be that low fat, but will be better than a bhaji IMO (and delicious). Or see if they do melon? Try asking, if it isn't on the menu. Or a tandoori prawn dish could be a starter - try asking for it without a sauce maybe.

Oh, or the alternative would be to go with a vegetable curry - the curry sauce would be fatty but you would save on the meat so fewer worries.

Have a lovely time!

? pinkish? it's the one marinated with yogurt and spices so it does tend to be pinkish, yes

Chicken tikka would be a good starter too, as long as it's without sauce. But you can't really have chicen tikka as a starter and then tandori chicken as a main as they are essentially the same thing, so it would be very dull.

Indian restaurants often do a grilled butterfly prawn starter which would be good.

Boiled rice is much better than pilau/other rice or bread (all the Indian breads are made with quite a lot of oil).

Tandoori chiken and rice can be quite dry so perhaps have some yoghurt with it, there is usually a spiced or minted yoghurt with chopped cucumber/tomatoes.
