I’m 174kg and wondered if there was anyone else in a similar boat who wanted to lose weight.

I’ve started doing weight watchers, and have so far lost 1.3kg.

If anyone else is in a similar boat please join me.

The other threads are great but I find that I get discouraged with everyone else being so much smaller than me, so thought maybe people with a similar weight could motivate each other.

I was last year and lost over 3 stone. Started again after Christmas and since jan have managed to get to 18.10. Are you doing calorie controlled?

Not now but I have been. December 2018 I was just over 25st. I'm now 14st 10lbs.

I know it seems like a huge and impossible task but it's possible to lose the weight healthily and sensibly. For me it was following weight watchers and tracking everything I ate and drank.

Also break the goals up into mini goals, weekly or monthly targets all add up as time goes along.

Sorry I know you weren't asking for advice - just wanted to share my experience!

Set small goals. Make the first one to get below 170kg! Download the app ‘monitor your weight’ it shows you all kinds of info, like your BMI, fat percentage, and also graphs, which I find really motivating. My current goal is to have a BMI under 50.

Thanks guys. I’m doing weight watchers.

I use the happy scale app as it automatically breaks it down into 10 sections.

I’ve had 18 weeks of therapy related to food so I ready now, I can do it.

I started at 23st almost exactly. I'm now down to high 19's but had gotten to my lowest of 18st 7lbs. I did WW on and off for years, always regaining. What really changed it this time was being diagnosed with diabetes and going low carb as a result. It's not dieting, it's not about weight it's about managing a condition. Low carb was an absolute revelation for me. Not experiencing constant cravings and hunger for the first time in my adult life was such a massive relief!
The weightloss has been amazing too. Last year I got to go on roller coasters and shop in shops I'd avoided for years.
Good luck, remember to be kind to yourself and take it steady. It's about finding what a long term sustainable change looks like for you not simply a diet.

Thanks.

I’m working hard at not eating unhealthy food. I don’t like most healthy foods, I’m autistic, rather than I just don’t want to eat them. So I’m working with what I can eat. And I think it’s going well.

I do have the odd McDonald’s or tesco sandwich with crisps, or the odd what I thought was a small Easter egg that turned out to be 27 points oops. But I’m learning and getting there.
