Evening like the title says I'm dreadful at dieting so I was wondering if I start off wiv small changes would it make a difference

I drink a ridiculous amount of coffee a day wiv full fat milk and 2 sugars but for the last two days iv only had one 1 sugar and semi skimmed milk in each cup of coffee

Would this actually make a difference then wen iv got used to this make another small change???

The little changes do certainly add up eventually but you'll not notice a weight difference until you have made quite a lot and have been doing them consistently for a while. The difference in calories between 2sugars plus ff milk vs 1sugar plus ss milk is about 18 calories. To lose 1lb a week you need a deficit of about 500 calories a day so you would need about 30 different daily micro-changes of that sort of scale to make an impact which would be quite a lot of "new rules" to keep in mind.

But I think the general principle is sound - in that "being on a diet" is miserable and sets you up for a crash when it gets too much. Permanent sustainable change is better.

It's difficult to suggest other changes in the situation of not knowing much about your current habits for food and exercise. Something that made a huge impact for me was downsizing all my crockery and I no longer use my large dinner plates and have little rice-bowls instead of the larger bowls I used to use. It has made it much easier to reconfigure what I expect as a 'portion' at each meal.

I think you need to find what works for you and what makes you want to give up.

For me it is eating foods I don't love and not having pudding. I count yoghurt as pudding but I will sometimes be careful on my dinner portions so I can round off a meal with a mint magnum Grin

DH and I eat totally differently. He is low carbs but is very disciplined and wasn't overweight to start with. He runs 5-10km a day so that is his focus. I couldn't eat how he eats, it depresses me just watching him!

We have both lost weight so you need to work out what floats your boat.
