I've really let myself go and put on over 4st. Its difficult to put into words how much this gets me down. When I look in the mirror it's like looking at an entirely different person.

I have quite a busy life with a small DC and work and am really just lacking the get go to do what I need to do to lose weight.

Has anyone successfully lost this amount of weight without spending hours in a gym? How did you fit in time around DC to work on yourself?

Most weight loss is down to diet rather than exercise. If you can fit in some strength exercise, i.e. weights, you can get fairly rapid results if you stick to the food side of things eating high protein and lower carbs and fat.

I've lost two stone over the past year doing this and am so much fitter than I was. I had got to the stage where I no longer recognised myself and was so unhappy with the way I looked. I feel as though I've got me back. I do around 40 mins interval weight training 3-4 times a week (online during lockdown - there are bodyweight alternatives if you don't have your own weights) and try to get out for a walk as much as possible.

So since lockdown started last March, I said to myself that I would lose weight, get fit etc. I went from 14stone down to 10stone by October I'm 5ft7. All through Intermittent fasting. I relaxed my diet over November to end of January with Christmas etc getting in the way. I got on the scales yesterday and I'm up to 11st 5.

Joe Wicks body coach plan. 13kg down since autumn 2020

I did without setting foot in a gym, ever. I try to exercise when the toddler is asleep, but I lose the majority of my excess weight without exercising. Diet is way more important. You do not need a lot of time to eat less.

I hate exercise & haven't been to the gym since Covid started.

I have a lot to lose - 5 stone odd. I've lost over 1 stone 2lb (weigh in on Monday) since 5th Jan.

I've eaten healthily, no booze (so far but ready to succumb), and calorie counted on mfp as well as doing my 10k steps.

I'm struggling today as I want to drink & just had a sneaky peek on the scales & looks like I'll lose a couple of pounds on Monday. I stayed the same last week so am hoping for more but just in a slump. I know if I carry on, I will lose it so am doing my best to muster will power. Saturdays are the hardest!

Wow. Thanks everyone, this is all really inspirational! Congrats to all of you on how well you've done.

On your advice, I'll definitely focus more on my diet than anything else. I've done intermittent fasting before and found it really easy so I'll give that another go. Thanks again for all the posts it really makes things seem more achievable when others tell you it is!

@Cakeface101 honestly, I have always hated hearing this but if I can do it anyone can. I was on the habit of usually drinking a bottle of wine & a big bag of crisps daily. The meals weren't that healthy either.

If I get to bed earlier then I can easily get up in the morning & go for a walk to about 40 mins which gets me about 6k steps so is a great motivator for the day to stay on track.

I cba joining slimming world et al again but I am missing buddies & weight loss chat. MN is good but sometimes the threads can be a bit sporadic.

Good luck & let us know how you get on
