5 weeks of a lower calorie diet and no weight loss. I am eating way less than I did and moving way more however apart from a 3 pound shift, that is it!. I am following a 1500 calorie a day diet, measuring and weighing all foods and trying to limit processed food and simple carbs. I've never done this type of diet before so not sure if I'm doing it correctly. I'd appreciate some advice before I run to the Pringles!!

I am about 4lbs overweight according to my BMI, but would aim to lose 10 to get back to pre baby weight. My DD is 3 months.

Four pounds?

I am on the wrong thread, bye!

Right .....

Well. It's a competition I suppose.

I thought weight loss journeys were meant to be supportive, not judgemental. Imagine if I made comments about you.

There are some odd replies on this post amongst the supportive ones.

Weight loss is a mysterious thing. You can do the same thing for four weeks in a row and some weeks lose two pounds, some weeks lose nothing. There are so many possible reasons why. Just persevere and you will get there in the end.

You are losing weight just annoyingly slowly!

@TwirpingBird may I have your recipe for the low calorie sauce for the stir fry? Love a stir fry.
OP, it’s really hard when the results take a while to show on the scale but keep up all your good work. Do you have time to do a food diary? Overtime and if you complete it with detailed information, it can show you some trends. For example, cheese stalls my weightloss, even if it is a small amount of cheese. I now know that if I want to have carbs, I need to have a medium portion and as part of a meal with lots of veggies and protein. I found out bread doesn’t stall my weightloss if I keep it to one slice. Things like that will help you to build up a “body manual”. Do you have scales that indicate the body composition? You could be building up muscle mass. Have you noticed any other positive changes such as higher energy, less bloated, things like that? Sometimes the body puts all these things in motion before showing it on the scale. If you haven’t tried intermittent fasting, please do, it could be the trick that gets things moving for you. It did for me. Good luck with it all and don’t get discouraged. You are doing a very positive thing for yourself and your actions will be rewarded.

Thank you all so much for commenting. You are right, I am losing, it just is slow. I have now lost 6 pounds so I'm over the moon! I am tracking my calories daily on an app and have increased my steps. I'm feeling positive and plodding on. I miss bread and lurpak though 😂

If you keep up at that rate you will have lost two stones by the end of July!
