Hi guys. Sooooo
Lockdown weight. Where do we start?!?

I've been told methylphenidate(Ritalin) is good for weight loss? Has anyone lost weight on these?

I've tried every diet, natural herb, Holland and barret...you name it, I've tried it. I'm at my last resort.

Or can anyone point me in the right direction of weight loss tablets/anything??!!

Hello! I don’t think that taking pills for weight loss is ever healthy or successful in the long run so maybe you are better off changing your eating habits- don’t do a ‘diet’, don’t cut out any foods, just try and cut down your portion sizes for a start, will make a huge difference, and move more and drink plenty water. Or if you wanted to calorie count to be sure that it’ll be successful, download my fitness pal, answer all the questions honestly and set it to either lose 1lb a week, or lose 1/2lb a week. Don’t put 2lb a week as this won’t be sustainable and you’re way more likely to give up/binge. Then weigh everything you eat and log it like that. After a while you get an idea of what certain weights look like so will be able to stop weighing everything if it’s too time consuming! good luck

I'm currently taking grenade thermo detonator stim free, alongside their black ops weight management, alongside 1000 calories a day intermittent fasting, with slim fast shakes. 3lb's down since feb 1st, despite being on my period wehen i usually retain water.
Do they help? I don't know, but im happy enough with a 3lb/week loss.

Tbh on 1000 cal a day I would expect the loss even without the pills.

Most of these pills work by making you more active with hella lots of caffein. That's it.

How much do you need to lose OP? Have you tried joining some of the support threads here where peeople share their weightloss ways and tips?

Alli works. It's Orlistat which is a prescription medication but in a lower dose OTC than on prescription.

I know you read all the horror stories about shitting yourself on them, but as long as you don't eat lots of fat that doesn't happen. You have to control your diet in conjunction with taking them. They did give me a bit of wind until I got used to them but nothing else.

They helped me lose 4 stone and I've kept it off for well over a year - stopped taking the tablets six months ago - because I've changed my eating habits.

@brunetteonthebus how long did it take you to loose the weight?! That's amazing well done!! I'm gonna look into alli now. Thanks for the info xx

I was prescribed that as a kid for ADHD and it made me anorexic, I just stopped eating all together and now I have fucked up eating habits for life. Once you stop the tablets you will put on the weight back faster you can imagine. How would you even get hold of them without a prescription?

brunetteonthebus · 10/02/2021 12:18

Most of it was within 5 months @hopefully2019 and then the rest was slower once I stopped taking them. But it's still coming off, but as I'm at a healthy weight I tend to stay within 2-4lbs of what I weight now. Weight myself twice a month to keep it in check.

The tablets don't work except the ones that you make you excrete liquid fat. Just because a health food shop sells it doesn't mean it isn't a scam - even the mainstream chemists sell diet pills, anti wrinkle creams, bio oil etc.

Please look on the NHS site for healthy eating info and the truth about diets. They always fail. If you need help with this you want a dietician, not a nutritionist.
