Does anyone have this same issue with weighing scales?

I have done a drastic lifestyle change, given up alcohol completely, have cut potion sizes down, stopped snacking and only eat when I’m hungry, only eat until I’m full.
Also I have started a weights regime and now try and get over 10,000 steps in a day, I mostly manage but don’t resort to jogging on the spot in front of the tv.

My rings are looser and clothes fit better, my scales however are the thorn in my side!!
At first they went down, but for the last three weeks they have remained the same, gaining or losing the same pound.

I do feel so much better for my choices but the scales really disappoint and dishearten me. Will I see the difference eventually or shall I just launch them out of the window and never weigh again. All my efforts and changes must be making some difference surely.

You have to be patient with the scales... chances are it may come off in a 'chunk' of several pounds

I would focus more on setting a goal of being consistent with your lifestyle changes, as if you do that the scales will surely follow

Obviously what you are doing is working. Good job!
It's good to take measurements and weight because depending on your lifestyle one can be "meh" while other goes very much "yay". Eventually it kind of starts working together.

Remember that you are lsoing volume, you can see it! Don't let scales blips dishearten you.

You might have gained muscle, which is heavier than fat Smile

A new exercise regime can result in water retention within the muscles, thus affecting the scale weight. If you find it too depressing to use the scales, then don't. Personally I would recommend you check them every now and then but also measure yourself, use pictures, check the fit of your clothes etc to judge your progress. Sounds like you're doing well.

Thank you, I have always been a weigher as I have done slimming world a couple of times so it’s ingrained to weigh.
I’m going to try and forget the scales for a few weeks and just go by measurements and how I feel.

That's the best way. You are doing well, keep on it! The feeling when you get fitter from workouts is pretty good once you realise the changes so keep that as a motivation in case the scales play with you
